Question for the guys

I have definitely been urinating more frequently.

Furthermore, for me, my "male" issues are the most severe symptoms. I have been experiencing pain in my perineum, left testicle, and anus that radiates down my leg and into my back since January. I had ultrasounds done on my testicles, kidneys, ureter, and bladder; as well as x-rays and MRIs on my lower back. All normal. I'm a 21 year old guy who is otherwise healthy. I have recently begun treatment for lyme, babesia, and bartonella so I am hoping that all goes away. It is hard being a "healthy" 21 year old male that cannot physically stand any sort of sexual stimulation without enduring a world of pain.

Seeing a urologist may be worth it to rule anything else out and give you peace of mind, but I would bet it is all Lyme related.

Probably detrusor muscle spasms, the smooth muscle that comprises the bladder.
The probability of a male having Lyme cystitis is pretty high, it's a common sign of Lyme&Co.

Cranberry juice, Detrol LX (by Rx), Oxytol, (OTC) can give some relief if it's anything more than a transitory issue.

Happens a lot less now that I've been on abx for awhile.

I've had a lot of problems down there. I'm not sure I could attribute many to herxing though, so I'm not sure a more detailed response from me would apply.

Even so, lots of aches in pains, both in the testicles, shaft, elsewhere, in that general area. Pain in the prostate, at times, aching, general soreness. Pain in the prostate, when urinating, sometimes. Also, when defecating. I've had that fluttering in it too - the spasm(s).

Sometimes, I'll have this weird, deep, aching pain, when I urinate, about mid-pelvis, just below the waste area. Hard to get the last bit of urine out. Actually, sometimes, it's hard to get the last LOT of urine out. Lol, terrible wording, but.. yeah, it's like, "oh, there's some left," *pushes it out,* "oh, there's some more.." and the process continues.

All of these, and probably more that I'm forgetting, over a period of about.. the last four years.

I've had 3 prostate exams - yes, 3, at the age of 23. Fun stuff. I feel like there are middle aged guys who can go without saying that.

Also, some ultrasounds of that whole area. No problems, supposedly.


Again, none of these things are constant, yet anyway.

Hopefully it's herxing though - means the meds are working. Hopefully things improve with treatment for ya.

I would see about a urinary tract infection. I had the same type of issues (feeling like I needed to go all the time and very uncomfortable) and it ended up being a UTI.

I literally felt better with my first dose of Cipro (within 3 hours). Their initial analysis while at urgent care was no infection but the lab called a few days later and said yep!
