It's offical ~ This is where I belong

Just wanted to say hi and come out of lurking. I've been reading here for a couple months. I saw a LLMD on July 25th. Got the results of my blood work 2 days ago, August 28th. I have Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia and Ehrlichia. I am still trying to mentally digest my diagnosis and what is going on. To say I am scared is an understatement!!! I look forward to getting to know everyone!

I found YouTube videos of babies laughing. It took the depression away for awhile. I had to put some of them on my Favorites. LOL!

Glad to see you finally have some empirical proof. What lab(s) did you use for the diagnosis? How long have you been sick?

Girlie ~ Your reply gave me a sense of calm! Thank you so much! I have been reading the "New To Lyme" thread little bits at a time the last few months as I waited to get confirmation on my disease. Reading lots of information at once has become quite the challenge for me lately. The info I have been able to read there has been very helpful!

PeteZa ~ Your reply about my name made me smile!! I LOVE Disney World and Tinkerbell as much as I hate this disease. I decided to put them together. So now when I log in to discuss something that is painful I will see my username and instantly think of something positive. Did that make sense?? LOL!! It made sense in my head but sometimes this disease makes things come out making no sense! HAHAHA!!! I LOVE the sound of babies laughing! One of my sons has a baby cracking up as my ringtone!!

cd3764 ~ THANK YOU for the warm welcome!! It definitely took the edge off a little bit! I agree....for me....while I am struggling with the diagnosis I also am taking comfort in having a doctor that will be on my side helping me fight these nasty bugs and this forum is such a nice place to be able to fall and be caught or help catch those that are falling.

Rikky1 ~ 2011 is the last time the real me, the person I have always know for 43 years was around. 2011 was when the first unexplained change/symptom started. 2012 things started to pick up. 2013 ~ present...... sick, sicker, SICKERRR. My Lyme test was done through Immunoscienceslab. Thank you for the reply!!

Traveler ~ THANK YOU for the reply!!! It is scary...I am actually shocked at how scared I feel right now!! Knowing is one thing, but hearing I am not alone feels like a warm blanket!! Even hearing that the learning curve is a bit brutal makes me feel better!! It makes me realize it's not just me that feels it's brutal. Since it's not just me....it lets me know eventually I will be able to figure it out and that gives me hope! I DO have a ILAD's doctor. :) A couple months ago I was able to pull myself together and I emailed you about doctors in my area. I then came across a new place close to me that had opened and was on the news.... Talked to the man that opened it and he told me about a doctor that was going to start going there. I made an apt with that doctor and when I received your reply to my email....that doctor was one of the doctors on the list you sent me!!!! THAT gave me sooo much hope!!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ AND THEN RESPOND TO MY EMAIL!!!

Hi PixieDust;

Welcome to this wonderful forum. I too am a newbie. Mad, confused, scared, denial, mad again, and so many more feelings. This forum has been my best medicine yet. It took me a while to start my antibiotics as I needed additional pre-antibiotic testing done, and once that was done, I could not get myself to swallow those pills. Coming on this forum, and getting the wonderful support from all of these Lyme knowledgeable people has helped me immensely.

I finally got brave enough to start my abx (I am on 2 different ones, and at the direction of many on this forum, I started slow, with one first and I will incorporate the other one next week) So far, not so bad. Yes I am herxing, but I am following the detox protocol as stated in the "new to Lyme" portion of this forum. It helps! And rest when your body tells you to.

So I guess my word of advice, get all your essentials you need to keep your body detoxing, stay positive (which is so incredibly hard to do, but find anything to put a smile on your face) and put this forum on your "favorites" list on your computer.

Good luck. None of us asked for this, yet we can all do this! (I am, and I was so terrified just a week ago, I was not sure how I was going to handle it, but I am.)

Hi Pixie, I am also glad you decided to post. i tell people, if my husband and I can get through this madness so can anyone with Lyme. He has one of the worst cases of infection because it is life threatening, but I am confident he can be healed because Lyme is treatable. Lyme is Lyme so it doesn't matter what your symptoms are, you can heal. It is scary and I don't know what I would do without the support we get. Maybe you can throw some pixie dust our way! :)

I am so sorry for your diagnosis but you finally know what's wrong with you and you can start healing.
I just started treatment for lyme, Babesia and Bartonella. I am scared too and I just hope we all get through this.
