Hi,

Some of you may remember me from a few years ago when I was a regular. I was ill for years before diagnosis then on antibiotics for 1.5 yeasts before making a full recovery. I went on to have a son and been well throughout.

Two weeks ago I got another tick bite. As I was pulling it out my son bumped me and the head ended up stuck in. Despite trying to dig it out with a needle it's still there. I know it will come out by itself so wasn't too worried. But now I've got very typical Lyme symptoms - headache, fever, sore and cracking joints and fatigue. It's the joint pain that's made me particularly worried.

I'm planning to self treat with doxycyclin (bought from superdrug via their anti-malaria online suicide - pretended I'm off on safari! ), but can't remember how long is recommended for early Lyme?

So sorry to hear about the tick bite!!!

And, I'm sorry to tell you that I'm not so sure that doxycycline alone will be sufficient since you have so many symptoms.

Hi Worrypot!! I remember you!! I'm so sorry that you ended up getting reinfected!! I had that happen last year.

Cd already gave you good information, so I was just stopping by to say hi! I hope that your treatments work well!

Thanks to both of you. Last time I had 100% success with just 200mg doxy/day (and a short time on flagyl too), no herbs only probiotics. So, I plan to give the same a go this time too. I'm going to go for 200mg/day for a month and hopefully that will sort such an early infection. If not I'll just need to pretend I'm off on safari for a bit longer to get meds via Superdrug (dont want to buy from a dodgy online place, and also don't want to bother trying to go to a doc.

Traveler - lovely to hear from you, but am sorry to hear you're ill again. I've been so amazingly well the last few years its quite hard to be back again. But really hope to not be ill long :)
