Treating for the last one year through antibiotics and herbal but pain in legs has been constant.I think its somehow nerve related but there is definitely muscle weakness and atrophy too.What are the best herbs in capsule form to resolve nerve and muscle pain??


Please anyone with success with anything please share.

When I first got piercing nerve pain in knees at night before being diagnosed, I started taking Gabapentin (melatonin). It also helped with sleep. Over time I only used it at night and you need to take it daily to be effective.

I have good results with Low Dose Naltrexone (LDN). Not everyone does, but I definitely think it's worth the try...

I have the same problems with muscle pain and atrophy, Surm.

My doctor prescribed use of an herbal supplement called 5-LOX which you can buy from Swanson vitamins or the original version from Life Extension (more expensive). Both work the same but the Swanson is less expensive.

The herbs follow the same pain pathways as Nsaids so they work the same but without the dangers and side effects. I take 1 in the morning and 1 at night. My father has spinal stenosis which is extremely painful. He uses the 5-LOX and swears by it.

They work quick, too.

My muscle pain IS BAD lately-REALLY- I'm at wits end!

For several yeArs I've complained to my MD about pain and she 1st said, "Its low thyroid". Well after 3-4 years attempting to treat low thyroid, she then said, "Its your diet, potatoes, tomatoes, & peppers can cause pain due to inflammatory reaction of chemicals they contain".

Oh at some point was told "Its your fibromyalgia"(b-4 Lyme diagnosis of June 2014)

So I went on a very limited diet, but STILL muscle/ligament/joint pain that is episodic=meaning each time it happens it's in a different spot and it lasts for 1-3weeks IN THAT SPOT!

So I've been seeing an ND since June 2014, who never gave me any pain meds. She agreed w/my MD that it could be from the food AND low-thyroid, and added in that my virals cause pain-but still NO PAIN MEDS prescribed...she treats the inflammation w/FLEXNOW, meriva(curcumin), and magnesium.....but still pain episodes!!!
