Treating Marcons with a nebulizer?

Anyone with experience treating Marcons with a nebulizer? I recently tested positive for fungus and mold in my nasal cavity, just another piece to this overly complicated puzzle. I know people are usually prescribed BEG spray or some antibiotic nasal cocktail. I have zero experience with a nebulizer. The medication I was prescribed is Budesonide, which is a steroid, Itraconazole, and anti-fungal, and Acetylcysteine, I'm not entirely sure what this one does I think its a form of tylenol.

Any information or suggestions would be helpful. I'm going in blind.

Hi Cheetahjade, I don't have MARCONS but I've used a nebulizer for asthma. I assume if it's in your sinuses then you have to use a mask, rather than the breathing tube. The medicine comes in little liquid tubes which you pour into a cup, which is then dissolved into mist that you breathe in through the mask.



Do you have a nebulizer/are you renting one?

I just googled Acetylcysteine and it's for reducing mucus.

It's not a mask it's just a cup thing I hold up to my nose. My medication is powdered and I have to dissolve it in a distilled water saline solution mix.

Renting wasn't an option I was given. I bought this one, but I have to see if my insurance co will reimburse me.

So my first attempt at using a nebulizer was a disaster. I practiced with a "dry run" where it blew nothing but air at me. I think I was expecting more of a mist that I have to breathe in. Instead I got what felt like a mini-hose shooting liquid in my nose. It was uncomfortable and trying to breathe in and out with my mouth open was very difficult. It felt like I had more medicine just dripping out of my nose instead of getting in. I ended up using only half the medicine. I'm going to try again tomorrow but I don't have high hopes.

Cheetahjade, can you try getting a mask? If you google nebulizer mask you'll see what I mean. I think it may make it easier for you...

Hi
I just got 2 antibiotics and a nebulizer. Tried it last night for the first time. It made me really feel like crap, like a hangover and flu at same time . I Much prefer beg spray, I used it once and it came back negative for marcons but within a few months the marcons was back. Does anyone know of a good doctor in pa or fl who trats mold illness.
