SEEKING LL NEUROLOGIST IN WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY (lower Hudson Valley)

I am looking for a Lyme literate NEUROLOGIST in the lower Hudson Valley NY (Westchester County).

I have been carrying a MS dx for over 20 years simply based on demyelination on my MRI.

I was treated with 30 days rocephen by a LLMD in 2006 for LD but still have symptoms. My current insurance will only cover a specialist since I have a PCP.

I saw a Dr. recently at NY Medical College LD Center but he ruled out LD and said I never had it - even with a typical Bulls Eye rash! He also discounted the Ingenex positive Western Blot.

Even if not a member of ILADS, I'd just like an evaluation from a neurologist familiar with LD who does NOT follows IDSA guidelines and has an open mind.

Sorry that you've been diagnosed with MS when it sounds like you have lyme disease - and an obviously under treated case!!

I think a LL neurologist is difficult to find..but this is the place to find one!

I have a question: When you were treated in 2006 - your LLMD discontinued your treatment, even though you were treated for a short term...and still had symptoms? Or did you want to discontinue it?

It's ridiculous that regular Dr.'s don't even know that a bulls eye rash - means lyme disease...no if, and's or but's.

I'd like to point out the thread a the top of the page titled: "New to Lyme?..Start here!" Even though you are not 'new' to lyme, you are new to this forum...and there is a lot of great information in that thread to read.

Maria, I will send you the name. Just so you know, it's hard enough to find LLMDs *at all*, let alone in your specific county that take insurance. But I wish you luck.
