Post-concussion and Lyme?

Does anyone else have post-concussion syndrome and Lyme? I just found out in the past month that I more than likely never healed from a concussion three years ago and it is why I am so bad off and why I got worse after the car accident (I had Lyme for 8 years before the accident). And it also might be why I am not getting better with Lyme treatment.

Does anyone else have post-concussion and Lyme? What have you done for treatment for both?

I am seeing a functional neurologist (a chiropractor) on Wednesday. Neurologists have been no help since my MRIs show no structural damage.

Please be sure to keep this post alive. I have a 12 yr old son, who suffered a concussion 3 yrs ago and has not been the same since. Insomnia, Supposidly he now has ADHD (which I am not buying) he has anxiety issues, argumentative (never used to be, and he is my youngest, I know what is and is not true argumentative with their parents) All his Neurology MRI testing is showing normal (in the head) but I took him to a LLMD who is also a functional medicine MD, in Sept. He believes my son has Lyme as well as TBI (traumatic Brain Injury) He ran the Igenex test as well as a host of other neurological testing. We find out the results of all of this come this Dec. 2nd. (I and my 13 yr old daughter are both Lyme positive in the past 4 months, so it pretty much goes without saying, I am pretty sure he is positive as well) I will try and find this post after our Dec. 2nd visit.

All I know, is that since his concussion, he is not the same kiddo. And I am thinking my whole family has had lyme for many years and it took a trauma to the body to exacerbate the Lyme to come forward. Mine was a botched 5 level cervical laminectomy that I could never recover from. I will keep you posted! Good luck!

No post concussion here as K eventually recovered; but she did develop rather significant concussion symptoms after being hit in the head (with a soft rubber ball) playing dodge-ball at school. This was during her antibiotic treatment for bartonella, and she was still somewhat symptomatic for that.

A single hit to the side of the head and she developed these symptoms which lasted for a couple of weeks:

dizziness,
pain on the opposite side of the skull,
headache,
eye pain,
sensitivity to monitor/TV screens and fluorescent light, so much so that she couldn't use the computer to do homework.

It seemed above and beyond what would be expected from the impact she experienced. Our son plays both hockey and lacrosse, and he has never experienced the symptoms she did, even with diagnosed concussion.

My only explanation is that she was more prone to concussion because of her already inflamed brain. I would think that the symptoms of one would exacerbate symptoms of the other.
