Trying to decide if I should go to ER

lpk not sure what they are going to do for you in the ER, but if you have no other options it might be the way to go? do you have an urgent care center near you? they are a good alternative.

how long have you been sick? do you know what you have (via lab work or an LLMD telling you?). sounds like you need to be on something as your immune system can't handle the bug overload.

My doctor is currently trying to figure out how to detox me. I ordered the 23 and me test kit today.

They tried IV glutathione but so far it's just making me sicker.Ugh

How long has rapid heart beat been going on and how fast?

Do you think that you might have an allergic reaction to glutathione?

Maybe try taking some Benedryl or some type of antihistamine?

Can you call or e-mail your LLMD for more information?

I can swallow and breathe ok. I called the doctor's office but they did not return my call. I'll call again tomorrow.

I'm going to try some charcoal as Traveler suggested.

What is bio magnetic? How long were you treated with this?

It does seem that you are herxing, otherwise I would be encouraging you to go to the ER. The thing is, going to the ER in a herx the person will have a very high chance of the doc's trying to give them steroids to stop the inflammatory reaction. Steroids are the last thing a person with an ongoing infection needs unless it's literally to save their life - as in not being able to breathe or swallow, as Little Bear was saying.

finisului17, MCAD is not really a diagnosis yet.

There are some doctors doing research on people who have all the symptoms which is basically allergic reactions to everything. The idea is that you body over produces mast cells. Mast cells release histamine and other hormones (or other things) that cause the allergic reaction process. Another theory is that the mast cells just don't die off when they should.

Food sensitivities and Leaky Gut figure very prominently. The idea being food molecules leak into the blood stream and travel everywhere. The immune system develops antibodies and the mast cells are deployed to handle things.

There is a blood test that can be done, but it doesn't directly test for MCAD. I believe that it tests for one of the things released by the Mast cells. The "gold standard" being used by the docs doing the research is to extract a bone marrow sample and actually count the number of mast cells since they are created in the bone marrow. This is haphazard though because one area of bone marrow may have more mast cells than another and you may not get a good sample.

There is another forum that has a lot of people who have been "diagnosed". It is inspire.com and just like here there are a bunch of sub-forums. I forget which one actually talks about MCAD, but you can search for it.

A few things I can tell you is that most of the people on the forum have had to limit the foods they eat. You have to completely remove a food for sometime to give your body time to clear everything out and then when you add it back in if you get major symptoms you know you can't tolerate it. I found out i was allergic to egg whites that way. I had them almost everyday but it wasn't until i went off them for about 5 days and then added them back in that I found out I couldn't tolerate them.

Children's liquid Benadryl is a good thing to have on hand. Some people just drink a bunch down before eating especially if they didn't prepare the food themselves (like eating out).

Many also routinely take things like claritin everyday.

There is a prescription allergy medicine that some people have found helpful. The name is Ketotifen. It is only available in the US in the form of eye drops, but in Europe the oral form is available. I don't think it is a steroid. It is prescription as far as I know. My husband tried to get me some in the UK, but they could not do it without a script.

I do have tons more information, but i'll have to look tomorrow since its 2:30a right now.

After you get past this, you may want try a non-IV glutathione to see if you have an allergic reaction to it like Little Bear said. Better to use only a small amount and what to see if you have a problem.

If you do have trouble breathing or swallowing then definitely go the the ER or call for an ambulance.

One question I would have though is when did all this start? The reason I ask is that most people who react to medicine don't have a reaction the first time they take it. It takes time for the immune system to kick in and create antibodies. So if everything was ok until the last IV, it could be an allergic reaction. It could still be an allergic reaction if it started with the first IV. Just don't let the fact that you were ok the first 5 times lead you to believe that it can't be an allergic reaction.

I will look at the links Traveler gave you and see if there is anything I have that might help, especially info about the ketotifen.

I made it through the night but unfortunately I'm still desperately ill. My brain is burning and my heart is pounding. My feet hurt terribly. I feel like I'm barely hanging on.

I'm going to try to see my doctor today and keep trying charcoal. I don't have any Alka seltzer gold but I'll see if I can get some.

I wouldn't think it was the glutathione, that's supposed to help! But I suppose it can't be ruled out. Are you hydrating, and do you have cardiac manifestations normally? I do that why I ask..... Is it a bounding pulse? Do you have a fever? What meds are you on?

I have the heart stuff too, and I get lots of pvcs, like sometimes every second beat for hours and hours on end. I would say if you are feeling that unwell it can't hurt to get checked. Maybe you'd benefit from iv fluids? I am a nurse and I would hate to tell someone they don't need medical attention. What's your gut tell you? How high is your pulse? With the cardiac stuff I'd say get checked.
