Hey all,
NotquiteAntonio is having trouble finding a LLMD that will work with his circumstances. Surely someone here is seeing a LLMD that he can get in to see that will work with him!! Let's team up and lend a hand!

Anyway, yeah, I have a few different lists from ILADS. What I'm really wanting to know is if any of the people here have been seen by any of those doctors, as I'd really like to hear some feedback on them, rather than just going in blind.

I want to know if they know what they're doing, and are somewhat pleasant, compassionate people, because I've heard things about some of them not being "all that," as the kids would say.

Also, I'm wondering if there are any doctors that people know of that didn't make it onto the ILADS list, as when I first began my search, I saw a couple old threads relating to LLMD's in Iowa where people were sharing information about doctors through email, not specifically saying they got the names through the ILADS referral system.

I don't know though. I guess, if no one shows up here, I'll just have to go ahead and try them all, but I feel like this would save a lot of stress, money, and time.

Antonio, I have been to 2 ILADS referred docs on the list for my area. I always ask about a consultation fee. Just to see if they have a tiny appointment to see if you get along before you pay for the long expensive 1 hour appointment.

Sometimes you just have to take a tiny taste to see if you will eat the whole thing. lol

Antonio-Have you looked into any of the support groups in Wisconsin? There seem to be a few. They could be a resource.

Hi, my doctor is in Milwaukee Wi. He is a TCM and a nurse practitioner. He is no an ILADS Doctor. I can e-mail you if you have questions

That's the thing, I've already found a bunch of doctors in within the 3 state area. I know who's out there. Now, I'm just trying to get some patient feedback, as I'd like to make the best possible choice for me the first time.

So, I want to find people who've been seen by or know someone who's been seen by them.

If all else fails, I'll have no choice but to go with the trial and error route, but it really would be nice to know how the experience has been for others.

Yes, I've been emailing him. Though he hasn't seen her himself to give me the type of insight I've been looking for, he's been very helpful in pointing me in the direction of those who might be able to, which is awesome. I've just sent an email out.

Worth noting, I was surprised, as the last GP I was a patient of, before she kind of just stopped bothering with me, and without even a goodbye (RUDE D;), she actually suggested the very same doctor.

So.. let's hope the person gets back to me, and is willing to share a little information. I told them I'd do whatever I could to prove I'm not someone trying to target LLMD's or whatever. I'm not the boogerman, okay!? I know I'm hideous, but I'm a chocolate rainbow on the inside, I swear. LIKE ME! LOVE ME! pls. lol

Anyway, we'll see.

Buuuuutttttt.. thanks again, Astro. Everyone else as well. You've all helped, in some way.

LOL,

Yes the "lyme contacts" up here keep tight lipped on the LLMDs as they have had lawsuits against them in the past. There is a short term MN statute law that prohibits this "LLMD slaying" for now. Its "open season" again in 4 years.

Hopefully in 4 years, things will be different for all LLMD's. A girl can hope!!

Antonio, you can use me as a reference if you think it would be of any help. With as many posts as I have on here, one would think it would be of some worth. If I can use it to help you verify that you are truly a Lyme patient, it would make my day.

edit: But, honestly, no offense to them or anything, a couple of the other places I've tried aren't all that great really, whether because there aren't that many active users, the interface is confusing, or a mixture of both. Still, what help I've been getting is appreciated.
