Definitely sounds like a case of Lyme and possible coinfections to me. I can't say for certain though. Some of the other members should be along to give you some more suited input.

Also, screw what that doctor said, my friend. It's like I frequently find myself saying, there are lots of smart dumb people in the world. It's not always their fault though, it's the hive mind - he says, she says, monkey see, monkey do. The people whose words come through the loudest, and matter the most, to these sorts doctors, they don't want the truth known, for whatever the reason, so, in large part, it's not.

In short, they're lied to, so they lie to others.

The good news is, eventually, that will change. When? I don't know. Not soon enough, for darn sure, but someday.

Until then, just do what you can, using the words of the people here, and whatever help you can get from a doctor, considering you can find one (I'm hoping). I would offer some advice, but I don't even have a handle on my own problems.

Best things I can say are that you know your health best, rather you know when something is wrong with you, and that you should definitely stick around the forum while you try and get things figured out.

If Lyme's what's ailing you, sorry. Actually, either way, I'm sorry, for all that. I'm sorry I can't play God for you and the rest of us.

I'm sorry for what you are going through.

I do have names of three Dr.'s in Romania who treat Lyme - even though they're not officially "LLMD's"

The information I have says they treat with abx and herbs.

You can send me an email, and i will give you the information they have. At least, they could give you better testing (maybe from the lab in Germany) - and you could discuss how they treat.
When you send the email, please say where you are from so I can identify what area you are looking for the Dr.

Also, you should enable your email option - in case someone wants to send you information - we can't post the names of the Dr.'s treating lyme on here - for privacy reasons.

Those are all very common things for those that don't know about Lyme to say to someone that is experiencing Lyme symptoms. I would encourage you to take a good look at our symptom lists in the "New to Lyme? Start here!" thread (the one that stays at the top of the forum all the time), and see what other symptoms you may have that match up to these infections.

The Western Blot misses 50% of those that actually have Lyme. There are several reasons for that - one is that they are only looking for one of over 300 strains of Lyme that cause human illness.

Another one is that Lyme inhibits (restrains) the immune system so that it can't respond to the bacteria and make the antibodies that the tests rely on.

Yet another reason is that most labs won't use what's needed for testing (specific stains and dyes to see the bacteria) and won't give it the amount of time it truly needs to develop into a positive test.

So don't get your hopes up too high on the Western Blot, please.

You can treat yourself most likely, if there is no way for you to get in to see any of the doctors that Girlie has listed - but I would still encourage you to contact Girlie to be sure that you and she are both talking about the same doctors - you might be surprised!

Hi ioana thank you for your answer i do believe youre talking about dr B.C.I. i have some questions for you,did he diagosed you with lyme and coinfections based on his tests or were you diagnosed in a hospital?Did he treated you with hiperbaric oxygen therapy?anyway today i did the stupid thing to print the symptom list from the thread suggested by traveler,marked my sympoms and showed them to my doctor not only she will not order an western blot but told me based on that menu she could fit the whole hospital and 50% of the population and diagnose them with lyme including herself and she asked me that if i think that people dont feel aches and pains here and there they are normal most people put it to getting old or exhaustion,lack of sleep etc,they dont know about lyme and dont need that diagnosis to tell themself they are trully sick based on some self proclaimed drs wich only interest is money and after what i read on this forum last night people here are trully sick but like its very strange like some guy said he got lyme trough tears and other things,im not saying i dont believe these people i do i feel the same with some but there is something fishy here and i dont want to fall in this madness especially with my health anxiety,i dont really want to take months of iv abx based on those dr i want my dr to wich i trust because my mom and her are friend since i can remember,but she says i suffer from generalised anxiety and it can give all my symptoms wich is true like i can google same symptoms with lyme or anxiety and it will show up,idk what to do i guess if i dont get better in 2 months with my meds i will pay a consultation to that dr just to see what he suggests

Hello Bogdan, yes I went to that Dr. after diagnosing myself trough a Eurimmun WB where I live and doing one scheme of Abx. From her, then exchanged to him. I finished my treatment of 9 months and one week Hbot 1st of december last year and relapsed în May, probably because I wasn't treated enough the first time, but I am a very complicated case. I liked him very much, and you could call him trough the reception and he would call back in max. 24 hours.He does not use iv Abx. Unfortunately after relapse I somehow do not respond the same way to treatment. I am pursuing a clinic în Germany. You can write me per mail. thanks for the answers,i felt great today no pains just i get lightheaded at a specific hour in the evening i think is because i have trouble sleeping over the years i destroyed my circadian cycle anyway i dont think i have lyme as i never noticed any tick bite or fever or anything and my pains arent that bad i mean what about our grandparents ioana because youre from romania they probably got bit thousands of times and dont have lyme or debilitating symptoms i think is anxiety and stress that are making me feel like this the mind can do alot of things like i had twitches before but never gave a darn about them but after i read that twitches are a symptom of lyme and other horrible diseases i started having twitches and notice them everytime i was in bed,thanks everyone for taking their time to answer and for the advices i hope we will get better

hi Girlie sure you can but the fact that she showed me the registers of people who got to er with tick bites and they were about 230 all summer for this year including 1 hunter who got bit last year and he pulled it himself and feelt sick and heard about lyme and came to her she did do the both tests for him and only elisa for the others after some time turns out he had other problem unrelated but alot of people dont know about tick dangers here and they just scratch it off like my friend,anyway my brain fog i think its because my sleep pattern for sure i mean i get it exactly when it gets dark before that i feel fine, for the other pains i dont get them all the time like my doc said here and there nothing bad but because of my anxiety i notice it and worry every time,the only thing that made me worry about lyme was the tick on that dog it was big like it was already fed, the tick was on that dog when i kicked him out but maybe it had more idk its highly unlikey but the dog got on my couch before i saw it and from what my doc said they dont get off that easy and only when they finnish the meal i hope that guy didnt sleep with the dog,i doo have more lyme sypmtoms like floater but the floaters i remember them since i was little and they dont dissaper and the jaw clicking my doc has a response for anything she told that i maybe grind my teeth at night because of stress since i only have the problem in the morning and gets better after a hour i do have some jaw sounds when i was little i used to make noises with it like i will crack my nose :) i do have some stretch marks for years but i used to work out since i was 13 so i can find a more likely answer for all my sympoms i cant exclude lyme tough but its highly unlikely let alone how rare is here 400 cofirmed cases to a 20 mil population in romania, in austria they are like 10000 every year to a 8 mil pop,there is way more common there

yes i know there are more and i think even here are more but it will be a pandemy if it were way more or at least it will show up on an elisa since it misses 50% eh if i dont get better maybe i will convince her to do the test or see that dr recomended even tough im sure he will recomend the hbot therapy wich is very expensive ,
lyme is like the best disease for a hipochondriac because you cant infirm it not even with an igenex test wich sure as hell i found people say on forums its a scam and its not aproved or something and are hand in hand with llmds in us and also a regular infectious dr will not listen to those results this sucks and is so confusing i read alot about this disease and its controversy for the past weeks that it almost obsesses me i have to take my mind off it and play some fallout 4

I'm sorry, but this is what doctors say when they don't want to talk about Lyme. I've heard it all my life. Every single symptom, they had a different reason for - but just how many conditions does one young person have before Dr's begin to think that maybe they really are all related to one major issue?? It took all my life. I was infected at age 7 and got those same excuses until I was 37 and stopped believing them. I was 47 before I was able to learn enough and get into an effective treatment. That's 40 years of hearing those same exact excuses from very poor doctors who would rather push a few more pills your direction than take the time to investigate why you are feeling so poorly.

The state I live in has zero confirmed cases - that doesn't stop Lyme from happening though, that's only a failure of the doctors to recognize these infections!! I talk with numerous people frequently that tell me they were told there is no Lyme here in Arkansas and that the doctor will not treat them for it. So it goes unrecognized by the state, and untreated for the person. It doesn't mean it's not happening, it means that it's not being recognized.

Of course, I can't tell you that you for sure have Lyme or any of the other infections - but what I can tell you is that Lyme doesn't have to be debilitating all the time. As a matter of fact, symptoms waxing and waning is very, very common for Lyme. For symptoms to start off slow and gradually build to be more and more compromising is often how chronic Lyme presents itself.

I would encourage you to keep looking for someone that not only understands these infections, but is willing to admit that they are there where you are. Lyme is a world wide problem, and no one has 5, 7, 8 or more conditions all at the same time. It's almost always something like Lyme that does that.

So you would say that a cult has scientific evidence of being an actual bacterial infection???? That makes no sense at all. Did you also think that AIDS/HIV was a cult? Many of those that were involved with the AIDS/HIV movement in the early 1980's have said that Lyme is following the same path/fight as they had to get through in order to be recognized.

Plus, the CDC even admits that Lyme is a real infection, yet you believe it's a cult????? I can show you scientific articles about Lyme bacteria being in bodily fluids, besides blood, or if you are actually interested, you could look them up yourself. They are easily enough found.

I almost died from untreated Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia, RMSF, Anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia and others - yet your worried about those that tried treatment and failed?

"im a kid i dont know much about this is just my opinion" You certainly do have a lot to learn, and I can tell you, since I was once a kid myself and had to learn how to cope with growing up with these infections - it pays to listen to those that can show you compassion, and scientific evidence of these things.

Something you have to understand is that we are ahead of the science though - if I had chosen to wait for the science to catch up to my needs - I can guarantee you that I'd not be alive right now. I was in the process of having my organs shutting down on me and not one single MD would do anything to help me stay alive, so I had to do things on my own, or give in and allow myself to die without trying whatever I could to live. I am only 53, I have 2 children of my own, plus two step-children, and although they are now adults, they weren't when I was dying. I had people telling me that I was going to kill myself trying to use herbs to heal, there was no way they would work - and these were people that fully believed in chronic Lyme.
