I am wondering
1)what the best is
2)what the best is for your money
3)and can I get it direct, or is it a specialty lab that only goes thru a Dr?
I was going to do Genova toxic elements clearance test like I did before, (its small samples of saliva and urine I think) but was going to use a metal releasing herbal mix by metagenetics this time one week prior. I did this one before with out any release herbs, showed only trace amounts, but I know metals stick in you.
No idea if the hair tests are better ect..............
thanks

I don't know about
either of the tests you did, but I did the Doctor's Data Urine test. It is two tests, one provoked and one not. My doctor ordered it and each test was $60 for a total of $120. I don't know if you can get it direct.

Hi Astroman. I would suggest reading Mercury Poisoning by David Hammond. He (and Andy Cutler) believe hair testing is best (the metal+minerals test through doctors data). There is a science to reading the results which is outlined in the book. Before I read the book I had a provoked urine test (doctors data ordered by my LLNP). I thought it was $200-300. The problem with IV chelator is that you are receiving a high amount of chelator in a short period of time and when the chelator level drops you are left dumping a lot of metals in possibly a worse place (brain). I follow the Andy Cutler protocol and I'm taking DMSA (12.5 mg) every 3 hours (every 4 I got a headache so there was some redistribution happening), even through the night for 3 days. That keeps a constant low level of chelator circulating so that the metals can be excreted over 3 days time. There is still some redistribution of metals at the end but less due to the low dosage and the long time your body has to properly get rid of them. Unfortunately this method can take a year or so. But I didn't want to risk being aggressive with this.
I did order doctors data hair test for my daughter through direct labs (no doctor needed). Her first one was through a doctor and I think the cost was like $75, but through Direct Labs I believe it was $125. I plan on ordering one for myself soon.

HI Astro, I am going to an alternative practitioner that using muscle testing to see if I have too many metals in my system. It is pretty alternative, but I believe in it.

Also, FYI I recently posted on my daughters hair test and that all of her metals have gone down in 3 months. The only thing I've been doing with her are baths 2x a week with Bentonite Clay (aztec) and Epsom Salt along with an occasional Nutramedix Sealantro in water before bed (maybe once or twice a week). We also no longer drink our well water. I am going to keep it up and retest her again in a few months to see if she continues to decrease. Fingers crossed. I am doing the baths too so I hope it helps.

I agree with Kyo07, hair testing is great. I have used the doctors data hair minerals test from Direct Labs online.
I have also done the same chelation protocol from Andy Cutler, it has made a difference in my symptoms.
It was really worth it for me, it may be just as good for you. Some people have great results and others feel nothing, just like anything else when it comes to lyme treatment

ItisLyme- On Andys site he mentions not to do heavy ALA use if you have old school mercury fillings. So I guess I need to skip this part.

Actually I think no chelation at all with mercury fillings. It will just pull from teeth into your body. Do you have fillings still?

Yep, from my younger years before we knew mercury fillings were bad.

The book goes through safe removal of fillings and also some things to do beforehand, etc. I believe it said activated charcoal right before.

My LLND has me doing the <24 hour urine heavy metals test, provoked with DMSA and EDTA. I haven't done it yet.
As far as amalgam fillings go, find a biologic dentist who can safely remove them. I found one in my state on this site. http://www.dentalwellness4u.com/freeservices/find_dentists.html
I'm planning to have my amalgam filling taken out in February or March. I talked to my LLND and she said that a biologic dentist would know how to do it safely. I should put a poultice of either activated charcoal or chlorella on the area after the amalgam is removed. We talked a little about
timing of heavy metal testing, treatment and amalgam removal. She said it doesn't matter when I do the testing, but that I need to have the amalgam out before starting treatment.
