IVIG port installation - NEW YORK

My son in new york was told by his LLMD to find someone to install the IVIG port. they are sending him a list of people to call. can anybody recommend someone? my son is in brooklyn. i know we don't post names of LLMDs here, so if the IVIG port doctors should not be named here, please email me.

It's meant to get the post back up to the top of the forum for more views even though the poster (me in this case) doesn't have any information that will help.

I did have a question though, now that I'm back to this thread - have you asked his LLMD who he/she recommends for a port installation?

he said that he called them back and asked for a list to work from. the office said they would 'send' it to him, but i don't know if that's email or snail-mail. (i'm in california...trying to help from here.)

That's a long way away from your son while he's sick! I'm so sorry for that. I hope he gets the help he needs and feels better soon!

I can share with you the list of LLMD's that I have in NY if you think that would help any - just send me an email if I can be of help!

he has a wonderful LLMD... he needs to find someone to install the port.

I've never had a port of any kind so I can't give suggestions, but from what I understand, you would need to work with your insurance for that as they may cover it. So once you get the list from the LLMD, you would need to see what his insurance covers.
