Hi Sandra!
Welcome to our community! I'm so glad you found us.
If you haven't yet, it would be helpful for you to start with reading through the thread at the top of the forum titled,"New to Lyme?...Start here!!", as it is packed full of important information, symptom lists, helpful links and pdf's, how to detox when one has these infections, information on probiotics and much more.
We have members who have healed using abx, herbs/natural treatments and abx and herbs/natural treatments only. I'm in the last group, herbs/natural treatments only after having these infections for 40 years. So a good protocol is much more important than whether you choose herbs or abx.
Depression can most certainly be a part of Lyme symptoms. I'm not someone that normally has depression either, yet I've had to use antidepressants to get through some rough spots, and then I would get back off of them. I have not used any antidepressant herbs or pharmaceuticals though since healing.
Here is something that may be of help for you to read:
themighty.com/2015/10/to-the-mom-living-with-chronic-illness-who-feels-inadequate/ And, when I was talking with my now adult children, they told me the thing that meant the most to them was that I was there with them and I showed how much I cared. My kids didn't get to know me as a well person until they were 29 & 30 yrs old. The fact that I couldn't do the things with them/for them that I felt I should be doing and other mom's were doing made no difference to them really. It was that I was there, and that I spent time with them and I showed my love for them.
The learning curve for Lyme is really quite brutal, but we are here to help you get through this. Just keep asking questions and reading! We can help find articles, teach you what information sources to trust and
help you understand some of what is going on.
