Does anyone else have panic attacks? My panic attacks are horrible last couple days... I got one in the movie theatre, my throat, chest, and face tightened up! My heart was racing, I've always had anxiety but never panic attacks until getting Lyme

Hi tbohl!-
I am so sorry to hear about
your symptoms.
Did you recently start a new medication or herb?
Do you think it is a herx? Are you doing enough for detox?

Hi-- Yes when I was on Doxy I experienced panic feelings. I had never experienced that feeling prior to that.
I also felt the throat closing feeling. It was very frightening.

Yes it is! Scary thing is I was feeling great and I'm almost done with the Doxy... I'm starting babs tx soon. And actually I did increase my armor thyroid dosage! So that could cause it

Our panic attacks were caused by bartonella. Thyroid medication is also a possibility.

It sounds like you've treated enough of whatever infections doxy hits that another layer of infection (Babs and/or Bart) might be exposed.
How big was your Armour dose increase?

I agree cd3764! I honestly think I would be healed if it wasn't for a co, I've been on abx on and off for a yr... Starting with zithromax... I went into remission then back came the symptoms, my main symptoms I thought were not normal and caused me to seek a dx were night sweats panic attacks... Hot flashes and I get chills with a very low temp, my Dr. And I decided to treat for Babesia just in case.I also get shortness of breath

I agree with cd3764 when I was on doxy for four months or so they started coming on like nothing I had ever felt. The doctor said its because lyme was clearing out and babesia and bartonella was coming in. It was so scary for me and still is as times, but just breathe through them and know they will pass. And try not to push yourself if you can help it. I had to make sure I was snacking on healthy food like every hour or so. Even just a bite. Usually I try to balance a little bit of carb and lots of protein. I'll pray for you...I just wanted to share that it happened to me too, so you're not alone. Try to surround yourself with family or a friend that can help at times. Also not sure if your doctor checked your ADH hormone but mine was so low so he put me on DDAVP at night to help store water in my body. I was drinking like 3 liters of not more a day and just flushing it out...my body wasn't holding on to anything. So he said that can bring it on for sure along with hypoglycemic induced type of attacks and then you already have anxiety from these stupid infections so it's just a very uncomfortable situation. I hope this helps! Stay strong!!!

Thank you Leah
yes, my hormones have been checked... I should have them checked again. Did you treat babs and Bart at the same time afterwards?

I am taking azithromycin which targets a little bartonella (the cat scratches come out a lot for me while on this) and then I am taking malarone pulsed 3 days out of two weeks and then artemisinin Monday Wednesday Friday of the following week. Azithromycin everyday and then diflucan twice a week because I have candida :(.
I took mepron for three months with the doxy. It's different for everyone and I by no means have this figured out, but I research a lot and am being seen by a great LLMD and then consulting With another in California and have been doing it that way for almost 7 months. I've been learning for my body I have to go slow and can't just blast everything. Are you eating pretty good? Like every hour or so? I used to be able to go the whole day and be fine if I didn't eat and now it's like I try to stay ahead of it. I even bring a lunch box with me if I go to the store haha!! Pretty lame, but I think it helps. Also...don't be afraid to ask your doctor if you need something to help you through this. they might have ideas to help you stay more calm. Have you had your adrenals tested with 24 he saliva test?

Ahh yes I'm trying to eat good :-/ Holidays have gotten me off track! But I try, I am going to start mepron/zithromax soon... On 12 days, pulse 5, on 12 again, I have only had adrenals checked by blood test, I will talk to my Dr. about
saliva test though thank you! My Dr. Knowsa little about
everything, she's a nurse practitioner and dx me with Lyme but isn't an LLMD, my insurance pays for her, and I'm too poor to see an LLMD as none if them in Michigan accept McLaren insurance. But my NP is working with me on suggestions and research

The blood test I had showed everything fine with my adrenals but my saliva showed I was all over the place. I think part of the not being so scared is the knowledge that this is what is going on and this is "normal". That's good you have a doctor that cares. If you ever have questions just email me and I can try to ask my doc at my appt. if it's something yours isn't sure about
. We all have to try to help each other :) it's hard with what we go through. The saliva test I had done was by diagnotechs labs in WA. your NP can order the kit for you :) if you google them they have a website. I try everyday to Put all my Faith and trust in God...that's one of the best things to come out of this! Hang in there! And eat snacks allll day long
