LLMD in Pittsburgh

Hello Everyone and Happy Holidays,
I want to start out this new year and actually be able to have an appointment with an LLMD here in Pittsburgh. And although I couldnt ask for better assistance and information with this whole epic, thank you Traveler, I would love to just sit and talk with a Lyme doctor. Show him all the testing I have been able to do, just ask questions and just hear what he has to say. I called one here in the Pittsburgh area I found through Internet and she refused me based on my now having all five bands on my Blot. Do you folks think, this is going to be a problem? And i do figure, I wont be using the insurance, so I have accepted that. Im thinking maybe he can order some of the other tests that my insurance would pay for. Either way, please help.

badd302--I sent you an email with the name of a Lyme doctor in the area. I think maybe there is a typo in your original post. Did you mean "based on my not having 5 bands" rather than "now"?

Ok Folks, my laptop just did something....LOL I was writing a response and POOF, it went somewhere. It might have posted. LOL So, I will begin again as if it didnt post.

Yes, I did receive the name of the two doctors in Pittsburgh and I contacted a friend with Lyme and asked if they had heard of him and they actually have gone to him, but did not continue as they did not like him. I forgot the reasons, but the other doctor, now I do think they were the one that I had called about nine months ago. They were originally going to see me, but called back and asked if I had a positive Lyme test. Well, I only have ONE band positive, which as we all know, is not five positive bands as the CDC wants. The secretary then cancelled my appointment. Then there was this Naturalpath in Squirrel Hill, which when I received the application packet, felt it was sooo income based, I got a really bad attitude right from the start. This woman actually charges for phone calls. So, I am basically left without a doctor.

Even though Lyme has been in my life not even a year, I have learned sooooo much and one big thing is, chronic Lyme, which is what I have, is hard to find treatment. Ya know, I am an intelligent individual and I feel that why cant I get just ONE appointment with one of these guys. I realize I am going to have to treat myself, kinda thing, but I would love to see if I am on the right path and answer some of my questions. That way, I will have some sort of peace of mind that I am doing the right thing, taking the right thing and prognosis that I MIGHT get rid of this darn thing.

aGain, sorry for responding so late, I have been doing Christmas and then coming home and passing out. You guys know what its like.....So happy holidays to all of you. I appreciate your helping me with this, I really, REALLY want to see a doctor this year, even if I have to pay for it.
