We are new to the clinic and have seen an NP because it's a pediatric case and Dr. J doesn't see pediatric cases to my knowledge but thankfully they do treat kids too. The NP has also trained with the best Lyme practitioners of kids. So I can't really give much other than they do really care about
helping people get their diseases under control and seem to keep up with the latest research. Our first follow up appointment is coming up. It's my understanding they start you out on lower doses and see how it goes before ramping up.
They seem to have a system and I think most patients see Dr. J every once in a while and have follow up visits with NPs too. It cuts costs and I imagine they confer with Dr. J on issues but I don't know this for a fact. It would be a good question to ask. It feels like a well-oiled machine with a system in place. They have many patients to see and intake appts are lengthy.
Regarding detoxing, it is hard to get a teen to detox but we talked about
diet just this am because DK is always hungry now and eating a fair amount of junk and is having a few more symptoms like joint pain and feels the worst on the week off antibiotics. The NP did have a few suggestions but I do think it's up to individuals to figure that part out on their own. DK has babesia too (no clinical signs of bartonella so far) and obviously isn't better yet but this clinic came highly recommended for pediatric treatment which is hard to find in this area. DK has whole life ahead and we want to knock it down to manageable loads and be aggressive since DK is late stage-close to 1.5 yrs. They want to make sure herxing is kept low so DK can remain in school and so far we are mostly doing well with that.
