I'll try the one of the oils. Cinnamon is probably better than clove, although I do like clove. I'll have to give them a try.
Girlie, yeah we probably tie for pickiness, but I'm sure my son has us beat. Smell is also an issue. Foods (or anything else you put in your mouth) first have to pass the smell test, then texture and taste.
I'm not able to tolerate spicy foods and my husband and daughter think I am out of my mind when I say things are too spicy. I definitely have more sensitive to tastes.
My son went to Boy Scout camp for a week and one of the adults emailed us to tell us my son wasn't eating anything except breakfast and ICEEs. We told him not to worry, if he gets hungry enough he'll eat. Last year he went on an overnight with the Y where they went to a Seafood Festival. I made sure that the adult organizer knew not to worry if he didn't want to eat anything.
Sensitivity to tastes and smells is actually one of the issues with kids (adults too?) who are on the Autism Spectrum. That's my son and if I were a kid now, me too.
I'm curious though how far you are in your treatment and if others have seen this issue go away with treatment. I'm pretty sure that rowingmom said that K had many of those symptoms (ADHD, autistic tendencies) but they abated during treatment.
Thanks, Kim
