Has anyone out there had any experience with Raiki healing? My s/o has a passion for the metaphysical world and just completed level 1 course from the Gray Center of Raiki Training. I suppose that Lyme and other chronic conditions are well suited for this practice.

I have 2 friends who are Reiki masters. One of them used to work on me every week for a long time. That was over 3yrs ago.

She told me she could feel my pains and that they were disturbingly intense. She never kept her eyes on her watch and wouldwork on me for hours each time. Never asked me to pay for it, but I couldn't not give her nothing, but she would return a part, put it back in my purse without me seeing it, etc...

It was extremely relaxing, which took away lingering anxiety, that irritated feeling, etc
I don't know if I'm the best reference, since I never went to a not befriended Reiki master...

I worked with an assistant who was a Reiki master. She occasionally used Reiki on laboring women. Most said it really helped them to relax, which seemed to relieve the pain.

I agree it was very relaxing and she said I could sleep f I wanted. The first session on Saturday she was not too comfortable with her posture and rushed thru the session. On Sunday we found better position where she didn't have lean over as much and that let her slow down

On the third position she suddenly stopped had had to lay down. She thought she was going to pass-out and lay down for a few minutes. She resumed and when doing my back side she had the same reaction and had to stop again.

Yesterday she sent an e-mail to her Master who replied saying at this is common for new people and that those locations probably channeled an intense amount of energy that she was not use to feeling. The Master gave her some tips to try to lessen the energy surge. I felt nothing except a good warmth and extremely relaxed.

The area that she was working when this happened was my gut area, where I've had some tough issues in the past few months.

I went for a reiki session once. Didn't feel any different. Apparently you are supposed to go regularly in order for it to have an effect. What was weird was the master saw visions which was rare for him in the years he's been doing it. It kind of freaked me out, I didn't expect it, wasn't a bad thing but I went in expecting something else to happen lol.

Worth a try, it's part of your healing right? I don't think it's a bad thing, relaxing which is good.

It seems to me that curiosity and openness about treatments and modalities are key. What works for one might not work for another. I tried Accupuncture for headaches a few years ago...didn't help. Friends have encouraged me to try again because they found it to be very effective. I had a powerful reaction after gentle osteopathic manipulation but chiropractic hasn't done much. I've been dabbling in homeopathy in recent years and have found that to be effective. I've had mixed experiences with essential oils. Reiki left me feeling very relaxed, but little else. I had a biofeedback/rife treatment last week (my first)...I didn't feel any different but she knew a lot about me after doing evaluation...things she had no way of knowing. I'm fascinated by this and am actually enjoying parts of this journey, believe it or not. I don't want to have Lyme, but it sure has taught me a lot.
