Controversy with Lyme Dx

This forum has been very liberating for me just joining but I do have some more questions.

So, as some may know from my recent and previous post as a new member, I have had testing done through LabCorp which indicated IgM P23 Ab as "Present Abnormal," and IgG P41 and IgG P45 Ab as "Present Abnormal."

Titers for Ehrlichia Ab Panel, both IgM and IgG are all negative. Babesia antibody panel is negative on both IgG and IgM panels as well.

CMV Ab, IgG is >10.00 HIGH and Positive if >0.69

EBV Ab VCA, IgG is at 181.0 HIGH and says a Positive if >21.9

ALT (SGOT) is also high at 44 with normal range between 0-32 IU/L

Most of this has already been posted in my first post, however, I'm seeing so many controversies as to Lyme specific band IgM 23 and IgG 41 and 45. Here's the thing- I also suffer from periodontal disease in which I was under an emormous amount of stress about 6 years ago and developed Trench Mouth as a result after visiting a periodontist! I was floored to hear that the most commonly diagnosed ppl with Trench mouth are men and women in our military who also have PTSD, etc. I know from research that certain bands like 45 can be indicative of periodontal disease, but also co-infections due to Lyme.

I'm soooo confused! I'm not sure if my periodontal disease would be causing all of this alone, or do I have Lyme in addition to? With positive abnormal band Igm 23 and IgG 41 and 45, then high liver (ALT) enzymes, high CMV and EBV levels... I'm really struggling to make sense out of all of this. I don't see my LLMD for 2 more weeks.

Strange. Especially with all the controversy I've read that states how 41 and 45 could be cross reactive. I should also mention that I'm constantly in some sort of debilitating pain. My feet feel like I'm constantly walking on rocks, my memory and concentration has gotten worse over time and I feel like I've regressed my IQ- brain fog! Seriously, I feel stupid much of the time and I use to be sharp as a tack. So many things, the list is never ending with symptoms.

I know, thank you, Girlie. I think I just need to wait it out and save my sanity. It seems that I'm spending all of my free time researching possibilities when I should really just leave that up to the pro's. I've read more Lyme positive, than anything. Thanks again.

You have to be super choosey as to what articles you read. If they can't back up their article with science, or have a strong bias, they are of no use.

While trench mouth is caused by Treponema, which is a Borrelia, it will NOT cross react with Lyme specific bands. Lyme specific bands will only react when exposed to certain parts of the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria. Borrelia burgdorferi is Lyme in the strictest sense. There are other strains that not only cause Lyme symptoms, but human illness of different kinds - over 100 of them are known to be in the US. So any Lyme specific bands that you show any reaction on, means you have the Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria in you and it needs to be treated.

You likely have Bartonella as well - feeling you are walking on rocks or broken glass is common with this infection and it can increase your neuro symptoms as well.

Ziege had a really good suggestion when they said to concentrate on what you can do right now. Make sure you are eating a very healthy diet, be sure you having your detoxing routines started and going well. The learning curve for Lyme disease is incredibly steep - and to try to learn all you can when your brain isn't even cooperating doesn't help!!
