Good evening everyone! I hope everyone is safe and warm and out of the snow.

I have never really taken essential oils seriously. I put a few drops of lavender in my detox baths, and I take a whiff of peppermint when I feel nauseated.

Just last week my acupuncturist told me to put cinnamon leaf oil on my lower back/abdomen and it would "make the cramps disappear." With much skepticism, I tried it....and it worked!

Made me realize I should perhaps look into essential oils to help my symptoms and perhaps even my healing.

I'm not sure where to start. Does anyone here use essential oils, and if so, which are your favorite, and how do you use them?

Young Living is a very good quality. A friend of mine did their tour and was super impressed. I do not sell them or am affiliated with them in anyway. They are expensive so do shop around. Although Dream Catcher is by far my favorite night time EO. Such a soothing smell. I make my own body soaps and I love Frankincense. It is suppose to help in making your skin radiant. Lavender is so soothing also. Grapefruit oil is good for lymph system. Any Citrus will keep cats out of your garden. Cinnamon for the heart but it can cause skin irritation. So I take cinnamon capsules. I have a ton of EO and love them all but those are my favs.

I have always loved EO's and when I heard that people were treating their Lyme with them and actually healing I was so excited!
My favorite brand is Doterra it's great quality and they use organic crops so it is very pure.

They have a Lyme protocol with several different oils. If you google doterra essential oils and Lyme You can find a few different versions but they are all pretty similar. They recommend frankincense, oregano, thyme, cinnamon and a few others.

I also joined a group on FB that is for people treating Lyme with oils called essential oils for Lyme. I am using oils along with homeopathic at the moment.

The oils are very strong and they recommend starting with just one drop and working your way up.

I've had reactions to pretty much all of the more commonly suggested - oregano, frankincense, myrhh. I don't use them anymore though. I tried both internal and external.

The external was too much of a pain, and I smelled all day. Some have good scents, others not so much.

The internal left me feeling toxic. It could have been toxin overload, but I'm skeptical.

I may go back to them someday. I've heard good things about people using certain oils topically to aid in cleansing (lemon, to name one).

I'd also like to use some of the more light, pleasant-smelling oils in.. what are they called, diffusers? I'd like to try a little lavender.

I just started using EO's in a diffuser and I love the them! I have used lavender, lemongrass, peppermint, and I'm waiting for an order from Young Living where I ordered an EO called Purification to put in my diffuser.

Right now my favorite EO is lemon as I love the smell...

Eucalyptus in my detox bath seems to add to the detox effects. I've recently been really stiffening up in the hips/legs and noticed a remarkable relief after a detox bath with 2 C. epsom salts, a 32oz. bottle of H202 and 10 drops of eucalyptus oil.

Here are a couple bits of info from an article:

Eucalyptus oil, a stimulant, removes exhaustion and mental sluggishness and rejuvenates the spirits of the sick.

Aside from mental exhaustion, eucalyptus essential oil is commonly used to stimulate mental activity and increase blood flow to the brain. Since the essential oil is considered a vasodilator by many, it means that it increases the blood flow around the body by relaxing the blood vessels and allowing more blood to circulate. Basically, more blood to the brain means more brain power.

Muscle pain: If you are experiencing joint and muscle pain, massaging eucalyptus oil on the surface of the skin helps to relieve stress and pain.

The volatile eucalyptus oil is analgesic and anti-inflammatory in nature. Therefore it is often recommended to patients suffering from rheumatism, lumbago, sprained ligaments and tendons, stiff muscles, aches, fibrosis and even nerve pain.

The oil should be massaged in a circular motion on the affected areas of the body.
