Success stories

Can someone post success stories??? I'm in a year of treatment and really need some inspiration! Anyone else have injuries or surgeries that haven't healed yet due to Lyme? If so, have the healed and are able to exercise fully again??

Dave, hang in there, you will get there. You know we are 2 1/2 years of nightmare, 20 months into healing. Will see Dr. S today. It's peeling layers of an onion, a slow steady painful process and many many set backs - takes Andrew 2 - 3 months to truly detox once we ramp up a new thing, but in Sept. he was like 85% well, I think we will get farther by April or May once this round of new stuff calms and he fully detoxes. It's just a LONG process and wears on everyone's patience. I have no idea how he's doing it in the throws of teen boy years with serious psych and auditory issues.

You are at a good dr., but it's still a slow process... hope your mom and dad are well.

Another bit of hopefulness: Sometimes I feel like posting when it's going well but then I think it might make those feeling really bad feel even worse, so I don't.

But since you asked. Since my treatment started last June (bitten 4 years earlier and had ineffective treatment) I definitely feel I'm going in the right direction. I just had a few days over this last full moon with an increase in stiffness and achyness and only yesterday was my mood affected to the point of crying. Today I feel it's passing. So, what used to be days upon days upon days upon weeks, really, of depression and pain and fatigue has been just a few days and it's really a shadow of its former self.
I'm currently taking amoxicillin, A-bab, BT detox, cryptoleptis and supplements are multivit, C, D3, fish oil, probiotics, coQ10, mg++, selenium and iodine, black cohosh (which has helped with my menopause related nighttime nonsense) and a probiotic at night along with a variety of fermented foods which really seem to cause mild herxing if I eat a lot of it.

Anyway, there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I think so and I hope you do, too.

Maybe there should be a sticky for stories of healing and hope? Maybe a sticky for 'my story' type stories that people can browse and read and subscribe to even? Just a lymey thought, lol.

Hang in there and know you are not alone. I've had a rough couple of days but today is better and I just have to constantly remind myself that the day of normality and good health is close, even though I don't know how long it will take. We all have different journeys to begin fully healed, some may be a bit more bumpy than others. But your day will come too. :)

If traveler can get there after 40 yrs, so can you!

Not my story, but I sure hope to post mine sooner rather than later.

I've just recently started to be able to listen to music again. Music was a huge part of my life way back before Lyme so as you can imagine, I've jumped back in head first.

My daughter shares the music she likes with me and she brought a band called Typhoon to my attention. After a few songs, I dug a little deeper. Lo and behold, the bands co-leader had suffered from debilitating lyme contracted as a child, undiagnosed for many many years. You can certainly hear his battle with Lyme in his lyrics. As you can hear from his interview on NPR, he now considers himself in remission and doing well.
