Getting US Prescriptions filled (for Canadian patients)

We live in Canada and my son's (soon to be mine, too) LLMD is in the US (because the licensing boards have been pretty aggressive in getting rid of most up here - tragically).

So far, we've been going down to an appointment and getting our prescriptions filled for the three months before we return. Even before the Cdn $ plummeted early this year it was brutal. Last time we were there, someone mentioned that there may be a pharmacy that does trans-border - specifically a Canadian pharmacy that will fill US prescriptions. Anyone heard of this? Or have other suggestions? Right now, in addition to what I think are higher drug prices in the US, there is about a 50% premium with the exchange.

universal drugs in Winnepeg is another one. Many are way cheaper than US prices for the same thing. Call them with Drs office info and they send a "faxable" Rx. US Drs need to fax back to canada pharma..........its easy.

There are many Canada online pharmas, look for their association symbols ect to make sure they're legit.

Universal drug also said 2 weeks, but was usually only 1 week for me, (I'm not too far from Winnipeg either).

One thing with the new US drug import laws from 2014 is you cant get more than 90 days now. Thats not a big deal for many though.

Some of these places ship from a canadian pharmacy, some actually ship from south east asia depending on the drug from what I heard.

I chose universal because my med was shipped from Winnepeg, I knew it was the real deal.

I would suggest calling and talking to the pharma of your choice to get all the facts from a real person first befor ordering..
