Need help with Igenex Interpretation

Hey Guys,

I've read the results twice... but who am I kidding I can't focus to save my life. Please help me understand these results. I think the Babesia is testing active on the one test, and that the Igenex results both IGG and IGM show IND. Which means what exactly (indication or Indifferent)... Also, the month prior to the test I had been on 10 days of Augmentin, 5 days of doxy, 10 days of levaquin, due to a seeming chronic ear, sinus, and chest infection...

**39 kDa IND (western blot results from quest 1 month prior showed Reactive for this band)

Test B. Microtia IFA (G/M)
B. Microti, IgM 40

Interpretation (Titers):
IgM at 40 indicates active infection
IgG > or = 40 to <160 may or may not suggest active infection...

Test B. Duncani TFA (G/M)
B Duncani IgM 80 (indicates active infection)
B Duncani IgG 640 (indicates active infection)

Your IgM test would be CDC positive if the IND (which means that your body is producing antibodies just not enough to be all the way to positive yet) on band 39 was a positive.

That's why that portion of the test say's Igenex IND not negative. If you don't already have an LLMD you should find one. If you need help finding one you can create a new thread; Need LLMD and the city you live in. Make sure your email address is available. If someone has information on LLMD's in your area they can't post the information on the forum, they have to email it.

The Babesia is also positive.

if it helps any, when you are IGM IND based on Igenex, it means you do have the bands in your system, just the numbers are not high enough to indicate positive. So i other words, IND, indeterminate doesn't actually mean they can't determine whether or not the lyme bands are there (39 for example in your case), it just means as I said that they are there but not in high enough numbers to be considered positive

And yes, if you treated with those antibiotics a few weeks prior to the test, that can cause a false negative result. this is important to bear in mind.

Thanks guys, I have an LLMD. I just got the results today from him and wanted immediate gratification (the test cost me something like $550)... I'm meeting with the LLMD next week.

Just based on clinical symptoms/medical history the LLMD believes that I have Babesia, Bart, and lymes but still wanted to do the igenex and a bunch of other labs.

I also have low igg subclasses, is that a common by-product of lymes and co-infections.
