Thank you everyone. He enjoyed helping people and I suspect he would've been doctoring for many more years if the cancer hadn't won.
He invited people to come see him and say our goodbyes a week or 2 ago, so it was nice to see him. A bunch of us squeezed into his waiting room, which is small and some went down the hallway, so it was a good number of people there. He was talking about his life and some of the people were telling how he helped them so much, so it was good for him to hear that and it was nice for all of us to hear more about him. He seemed to enjoy it quite a bit, but he was tired once the noon cutoff time came. Now he's spending time with his family, like he should be.
His office people are busy getting records onto CDs and filling vitamin orders, so I hope they will be able to finish before it's time to close down the clinic. They've been doing a great job.
We got the news after Christmas and since then other people we know have been diagnosed with cancer or other serious things and one just passed away this week, so it has been an emotional time. I almost don't want get on the phone, but I want to offer support where I can.
