Looking for LLMD in the UK

Hi,

Im suspecting I may have Lyme Disease due to on going symptoms and remembering a bit under my armpit about a few weeks before I started to get serious headaches.

I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction of a LLMD in the UK please?

There is a real difficulty with LLMDs in the UK, as in your chice is limited, sorry!

You may have the option of a referal by your GP to the infectious diseases clinic in Newcastle - that is IF you can persuade your GP, that is. Plus the ID clinic will dole out 28 days of doxycycline and that's pretty much your lot from them. I myself went there and have spoken to numerous others and I haven't heard of anyone getting any serious treatment from them.

I went to a clinic run by an ex GP (she can prescribe abx but is not so confined by the GMC as to there 28 days of doxy limmitations) and am under treatment from her (I live in Greece but I am from the northeast and went back to the UK for diagnosis and initial treatment). I had several people contacting me about LLMDs in the UK, but there seems to be a real problem finding LLMDs there...

Girlie sent you the same names I have. I've seen lots of British people going to Germany or Belgium for treatment.

Im in the UK.

Unfortunately there is almost no one left in the UK who dares treat chronic Lyme, and those doctors who do are all in the private sector, often charge extremely high fees and are frightened to prescribe more than a few weeks' antibiotics.

We had an almighty purge several years ago; Dr Andrew Wright was scapegoated and vilified, and other LLMDs were frightened into submission.

I and others are fighting to gain recognition (worldwide, not just in UK) for Dr Alan Macdonald's test, which is based on watertight DNA evidence. But the British Lyme movement is in absolute chaos and its leaders seem to think that the best strategy is to kiss the feet of our chief Denialist, Dr Tim Brooks ar Porton.

That strategy has never worked - in any country.
