Do you recall your tick bite?

Hi everyone. Just wondering if you remember or recall actually being bitten by the tick that gave you lyme? Just curious if they are more people out there that really had no idea they were bit, because 6 years ago I pulled a big tick off my hair, however I don't THINK it bit me...And now I live in an area with a lot of deer, I walk my dog and I have suspicions that maybe I got bit in the fall of 2015.

I remember seeing a little reddish bump on my left hand, and I told my fiance it must have been a spider bite, it was not itchy and forgot all about it (No bullseye). Then a month (or weeks) or so later the joint pain and other symptoms came on just after Christmas.

Anyway so my appointment with an LLND is this Wednesday. So we shall see. I am not getting any better that is for sure. I had a glass of wine last night and it just had an awful effect on me. I wake up sometimes in the night gasping for air. And last night I woke up and felt like my arms were not my arms, (I know that sounds wacko) but almost like disassociated from my own body. Anyway I am getting off on a tangent.

I know that my left arm and leg feel very strange, so I understand what you mean. I do remember pulling a tick off my leg right before my diagnosis. However, I think there was a second tick that I never saw, as I had two distinct tick bites on the same leg. It is possible the tick had attached and then moved to another spot, not sure.

I pulled the tick off my leg at the end of December and the two bites are still not healed up and itch like heck. Oh and right now as I typed this, my left leg had a huge spasm. That's a new symptom I had not felt yet. Looking forward to tomorrow when I can call the ILAD doctor's office and hopefully set up an appointment. My head is hurting today.

Never saw a tick and never got a bullseye. I had a glass of wine and passed out though. Like, walking to the couch, completely blacked out, woke up on the floor a few seconds later.

I wish I did find the tick. Oh what a torturous death I would've delivered.

I have always attracted a lot of ticks, and was always outside in the areas where they would be when I was first infected (age 7) - and continued to pick up lots of ticks each year. Last year was the year that I had the least amount of ticks attach, which was 4 times. I was reinfected by a tick in 2014 when I went into town to do grocery shopping!!

"I wish I did find the tick. Oh what a torturous death I would've delivered." Ha ha ha!! I take my revenge out by burning them - I KNOW they can't survive that!! My 5 yr old grandson told me "that's a little excessive, don't you think Grandma?" LOL!!! I just told him that if he understood what I had been through, he would likely understand why I do that better. I try to not scare him as he's not big on being outdoors anyway. :-)

I don't recall my bite. No bite, no rash, no nothing. Just started with asthma-like symptoms, chronic tonsillitis, then gastritis, then i was not able to eat anything and was in constant stomach pain.

Oh and 3 negative ELISA tests and the director of infectious diseases department in the best hospital in my country telling me "search for something else, you surely don't have lyme, ELISA tests are over 90% accurate".

The internet saved my life ...

I didn't find a tick on me...or a rash.

Many of us don't.

Waking up in the night gasping for air...i had that for several months, with sweating and anxiety. I was tested for sleep apnea...and was given a CPAP machine...but it didn't help one bit.
I also had thick phlegm in the bottom of my throat when this was happening...couldn't seem to clear it, along with the sensation of a lump in my throat.

Please let us know how your LLND appt. goes. Be sure to tell him about the reddish bump on your hand that preceded your symptoms.

I never saw a bite. But I did however, have a circle rash while on treatment, after I had a flu shot once (I got the flu too!). Anyone else get the bullseye after treatment was started?

Never saw a bite or any indication of one. Took 6 months and 2 dozen doctors to finally get a diagnosis which primarily came from an Igenex lab test.

Saw the bite and thought it was a spider or flea bite. I never saw the tick. It never itched or hurt but it took 3 weeks for the thing to go away. 5 weeks later I had a headache, my ears felt plugged and my lymph nodes in my neck were swollen. Oh and my neck crackled as I turned from side to side.

Had horrible symptoms, went in after seeing the rash, and tested twice positive for Lymes. The rash radiated on my foot between two toes. If it WAS a tick, I wouldn't have caught it anyways. People, especially doctors, love to ask if I was out camping or something. Realistically, we all live in the wild, just in really nice tents. I know several people that have ticks in their back yard.

Can't tell you how many times here in Iowa doctors are surprised I tested positive for Lymes. I'm like, can we move past this and fix me? ;-)

I noticed a tiny pimple on my abdomen one Saturday after gardening in a more wooded area of our property (stupid). At first I thought it was poison ivy.

I decided to investigate Sunday night and used the method described in "The Lyme Disease Solution" (had the book because 2 family members got bit earlier that year).

Low and behold - legs. Hubby is telling me I'm nutz and still arguing it wasn't a tick until after he got out a magnifier and saw the dang thing.

I called my Monday morning and asked to be started on abx. I had no symptoms at the time. She Rx'd 100mg BID doxy for 21 days and I developed a stiff neck the 2nd day.

Other weird stuff happened (nothing dramatic) after I went off doxy and my GP basically shrugged it off. More weird stuff (like numb lower legs and numb left corner of face) developed and I consulted a LLMD.

And, no bullseye after the bite nor during treatment.
