cannabis oil for eye problems

Has anyone with severe eye problems due to Lyme tried cannabis oil?

I hate marijuana. I did it in high school, and I very much did not like it. But I have heard that people can use it to help glacoma and such.

Has anyone used this oil with positive results on their vision?

I feel I am going blind and I would try anything at this point.

Does this oil make you feel high? I don't want to feel high. I just want to see if it could improve my vision.

marijuana is a different strain of Cannibis.

The CBD oil is from Hemp. Almost nil THC. So, no psychoactive properties.

The bonus is it could also kill the bacteria. There are studies that have been done (in vitro) that show it does....so maybe?

The marijuana is one strain of Cannabis and the hemp is another strain. It's actual industrial hemp used for the CBD oil.
This is why it is legally sold in stores in my Province - with no Dr.'s form required.
You don't get high off it.

It sounds like a lot of these CBD products don't actually contain CBD oil. Maybe I'll suspend my quest for now until more legitimate products are manufactured:

The Rifampin paired with another antibiotic - such as doxy is treating bartonella.

But, if you have Babesia, you will need an anti malarial - as sarah suggested - Mepron is one.

Could some of you do me a favor? Could you close one eye for 30 seconds, and stare off into the distance. After 30 seconds do you see a black or greyish haze over some of your vision?

I'm just trying to see if this is normal, and/or if other lyme people have this same problem. I think you could have this issue and just not realize you have it.

After reading up on it on leafscience, it sounds like it might have a lot of properties that help lyme disease. Especially if it's entered the CSF. I'll give it a go and let you know how it works for me:

I was watching a video. They said they take a drop of the oil, and leave it under the tongue for a minute. I guess this is the best way to take it?

Mine is more like a paste and came in a syringe. The measurement is in grains of rice. When I start I will be taking 1/4 of a grain of rice and using the flat end of a toothpick to apply it under my tongue. So it's absorbed sublingually.

I have read people also put coconut oil on top of their tongue at the same time.

If I did have brain inflammation, is there a way to measure that? Would you have to have a spinal tap?

The more I read about this, the more I think I have encephalitis. It looks like you need Ceftriaxone to treat it, because this is used to treat meningitis.

I guess a SPECT scan is the most useful tool to diagnosis this:

Case Report: The first patient that we encountered with this syndrome is an illustrative example. He was a 35 year old right- handed construction worker who was well until July 1979. At that time, he developed erythema migrans in association with flu-like symptoms. Four days later right facial palsy and fatigue developed, but resolved within one month. Five months later, in December, he developed oligoarticular arthritis affecting the knees which resolved spontaneously by 1983. In 1985, 6 years after onset of infection, the patient's wife noted that he had become very forgetful and was tending to fall asleep in the afternoons while on the job. There were no symptoms of another disease process, new medicines, or drug abuse to explain his symptoms. On examination at the bedside he appeared normal. However, on neuropsychological tests he had a markedly abnormal verbal memory despite a normal IQ. His spinal fluid showed no pleocytosis but had an elevated protein of 97 mg %. His serum Lyme titer was elevated, but more importantly, he had selective concentration of antibody in spinal fluid with a CSF/serum ratio of 1.3. An MRI scan of the brain and a polysomnogram were normal. He was treated with a one month course of IV ceftriaxone and gradually improved over 3-6 months with decrease in his spinal fluid protein from 97 to 70 to 52. Neuropsychologic tests improved but were still slightly abnormal at 6 months after therapy.

As indicated by this case example, the most useful tests to document Lyme encephalopathy are the spinal tap and detailed neuropsychologic tests. In more than half the patients with this disorder, the spinal fluid protein is elevated or there is selective concentration of antibody to B. burgdorferi . Neuropsychologic tests usually disclose abnormalities of verbal or visual memory and sometimes mild depression. The MRI scan is abnormal in only about 25% of patients. The abnormalities consist mainly of white matter lesions which may or may not enhance with gadolinium. More importantly the MRI is useful to exclude other causes of encephalopathy such as stroke, subdural hematoma, or hydrocephalus. The EEG is generally normal, or in rare cases, may show some mild slowing. No sharp activity is seen, a finding which is consistent with the absence of seizure and myoclonus in these patients.

More recently, we have found the SPECT scan (single photon emission computed tomography) to be useful in Lyme encephalopathy (see Figure). In all of our patients with Lyme encephalopathy tested to date, the SPECT scan has shown multifocal abnormalities of perfusion largely affecting the cerebral hemisphere white matter. In addition, after antibiotic therapy, the perfusion abnormalities improve.
