Soemthing a little odd - and maybe a bit of a whine???

So, as many of you know, I'm back in treatment - oh yay. rolleyes

What's getting to me right now is how all of the "joints" in my skull (where the plates meet) are swollen and rather painful. I've not seen this on any symptoms lists that I remember, so I thought I'd turn to my good friends here!! Does anyone know what infection may cause this?

I'm back on my Lyme herbs, not because I think I have Lyme, but they were a large part of my Bartonella treatments. This swelling started shortly after starting on 'full' half doses (see? I'm taking it really slow too!! I'm proud of me!! turn) about 4 days ago. This is Bart, right?

I do plan on treating for Babesia as well, but was hoping to hold off on that for another few weeks while I worked in all of my Bart treatment and detoxing routines.

Okay, so officially - whine, whine, whine, whine, whine!!!! At least I have some nice cheese to go with that whine! smilewinkgrin

Hey, I think you deserve a good ol' whine....with cheese of course. Jeez, you listen to the rest of us all the time, I am amazed we ain't driven you bonkers. Or given you skull ache?? LOL!!

I can tell you that I got pain on my skull behind my ears when I started on the Bart herbs (I don't know if that's any similar?? I will have to go google where the plates are in ones head, lol) but it was never swollen. At the same time I got real horrible pain behind my eyes. I figured the two were connected. I made the silly mistake of starting out on too large a dose, not sensible, and thought that was what did it.

I also get a 'sore' spot on the top of my head when I herx. My doc said since I can recall a tick bite on the top of my head, that could be the origional infection site, but I have since read that as a symptom too.

Hmm, I am not certain that really helps you whatsoever. Nope, probably not. No, certainly not, lol. But some one here is bound to , right :) In the meantime, whine away!!!

I'm not even sure where the joints are in the skull. But, I do have bartonella, and I have had several different 'head' issues.
The latest one is scalp pain...almost seems like it's the hair roots that are hurting
I also had 'tinglies' on my scalp.

Also, had what I thought was a swollen lymph node behind my ear on my head...but...maybe it was the joints in the skull swelling....

LOL! Hugs to you, Silly Sheep!!

I was pretty strange before I joined this group, so I don't think I can make you all take any blame for that!!

And your post does help!! That's just what I was asking about - just because mine have swollen a bit (which hurts!! LOL!) surely doesn't necessarily mean it's something else. I deal with a LOT of inflammation. And I know I'm herxing as my eyes are messing with me again (Ugh!) and a few other things, but fortunately it's not very bad and stays under control mostly with the detoxing I'm doing.

I like this picture (lots of pretty colors! LOL!!) because each plate in the skull has a different color, making them easier to see:

LOL! You too are being helpful, Girlie! You are confirming this pain with Bart!! This is creating scalp pain, but I can tell that it starts off with pain on the "joints" of the skull though. I posted a picture so that those that aren't sure could take a look.

Oh by the way, when are you gonna start the CBD? treatment? I have read really good info about it and may go down that route once diagnosed. But I am wondering where to get it. There is a lot of stuff out there that isn't legit. I've been watching for posts from you to see if you have tried it yet! Lol!

From me? LOL! I won't try it until it's medical marijuana is legal in my state - should be this year - but I'm hoping to be healed by then!! I've read where someone went to the Post Office to pick up their CBD oil - made from hemp - and had all of their property confiscated and had to wait until they tested the CBD oil before they would even release them from jail! I'll stick to my (other) herbs until that point. :-)

Now Girlie is going to be starting CBD oil soon though.

And that's a virtual glass of whine - surely you could join with me on that? smilewinkgrin

I am the inflammation queen. My orthopedic surgeon said he did not know someone could have that much fluid on their knee. I was numb so I didn't care. My first inflammation with lyme was my neck, jaw, ears, lymph behind my jaw or ear, of and of course, my prior injured knees. Head joints are by the jaw, your head bones should be fused by now, so that is a strange description. But what in lyme isn't a strange description????

My help was in motherwort, which I am sure you are already taking. Buhner says it has some important protective actions in the brain. He dedicates a whole page to it regarding the brain. And says that motherwort is higher in its antioxidative actions than both hawthorn and ginkgo. But motherwort was not sufficient. And the pièce de résistance was cryptolepis! Head stuff gonzo. My symptoms said Bart but the fix was for Babs, go figure.....

Worth a try.

I WAS taking motherwort - but had to stop because it was interfering with my thyroid function!! I was NOT a happy camper about that. Seems I have a very, very temperamental thyroid. eyes

But it's not my brain - although it's having issues too, it's actually my skull that is sore. Hubby place his hand on my head (lovingly) and I shrank from his touch.

I'll be working Babs herbs in soon - I sure hope I don't have this until then!! smhair That would take all the fun out of this! turn Ha ha ha!!!

oh wow, I have that same exact issue...and the painful neck, head, skull issue is fairly a new symtom. Well, new compared to how far back all the other symptoms go. but, anyhoo My new ND is suspecting its viral and also swollen lymphs. Im taking a lymph drainage product by Pekana.

with that said, Im now suspecting that my headaches are caused by exposure to chemicals when bathing and showering.

However, I also get the eye and sinus pain at the same time as the very painful muscle/joint that attached to scalp.

I started getting skull pain in the same areas you are describing since starting A-bart. I am only taking 1/2 drop every other day so this will be a LONG process unless I change to the Buhner's protocol. Touching the skull lightly causes more pain. Putting my head back on a chair also increases the pain. I recently posted that taking 2 Excedrin Migraine caps and a strong cup of caffeinated coffee really helps rid the pain.

YAY that you keep those journals!! I don't - LOL! When my skin was on fire, it was detoxing alone that helped me. I had to learn how to use a wet wash cloth to brush my skin, then a dry wash cloth, then a wet wash cloth that had been wet, wrung out and allowed to dry and then used. From there I had to just take the jump and use a brush lightly.

Of course, other detoxing routines helped as well, but that was horrid! But I have to admit that I'm impressed you found that!! I have a lot of posts! LOL! Thank you!

But it's not skin pain that's got me as that's secondary to the inflammation in my skull bones, as it's those places where the bones have fused together (like they should have, fortunately) that are swollen and very painful. If I touch where those places are not, the pain is more a slight discomfort, but only while I'm touching it (so I try to just not touch! LOL!).

Thank you, Patty! I wish I could have even a little bit of caffeine! I'm still battling severe adrenal fatigue. But you have confirmed that it is most likely Bart - that alone helps. Thank you!!

Wow, I've had the sore scalp/hair roots thing for a long time... I have a numbish spot on the top of my head that sometimes itches, but usually always hurts to touch. I always thought it was due to my constantly picking at a sore that was caused by my ramming my head against my headboard in my sleep when I was a child (my headboard had these beadlike decorative protrusions). But maybe it is more than that - maybe Bart. contributes to my scalp issues...

I also have subcutaneous lumps on my head that hurt to touch, but also itch sometimes. I've asked doctors what they are and they just shrug their shoulders and won't do anything to figure out what they are. I've read that Bart. can cause subcutaneous nodules...

Thank you girlie! Sorry Traveler! Brain freeze. It is not legal in Iowa yet so I really have to think it through! After what Traveler said I am not sure I want to chance it! Although CBD is supposed to be legal since it doesn't have the "high" stuff in it, lol!

Its funny the weird things that happen. I have had sore places on my head too, but it is just like areas the size of a quarter and almost feels like a bruise. I also have had the sore skin. And what is really weird is there are times I swear cool water is dripping on me and bugs are crawling on me...many times I have checked and there is nothing there, now I try to ignore it! Hee hee! (Like that could happen!)

You know, Traveler, the head pain is so excruciating which causes an increase in anxiety that I was desperate to try anything. I see an endo for the first time on Tuesday and am really excited for this appoinment. I have hypothyroidism and have been treated for years by a gp. Can't wait to have my adrenals checked out, too.

I am so sorry you are going through these symptoms again. Saying prayers for all of us.

Oh the days of cranked up music! Mostly so I would not hear my ears ringing! But also so I would not think of sad stuff and cry.

I had sore spots all over one time or another. I told my husband one day that it felt like he hit me in the arm. He sweetly said, "I wish you could think of another way to describe it, than I hit you." How sad that I did not think this statement would hurt his feelings.

Oh the things we learn about our significant others during times like these that we never thought we would!! LOL! I've learned just how sensitive my hubby really is too!!

I didn't mean to scare anyone off from trying CBD oil!!! I think it definitely has it's place!! I just hope that everyone goes into it with their eyes open or they are in a state where it's legal. If you don't - be sure to get a petition signed and vote!!

Girlie - I will do the same thing some days - like when I've just had enough and I'm done living this way. I usually pay for it like PeteZa said (increase in my tinnitus), but sometimes it's worth it!! LOL!

What I used to worry about was I have dogs - and two of them are male. Yep, it would feel like they had "lifted their leg" on me!! I looked to make sure that wasn't what was going on for a long time! LOL!

I've also had to reach down and feel to see if my leg really was wet because I was so convinced of what I had felt.

Thank you everyone for helping me to unravel this stupid symptom. I'm sure I've started herxing now. The timing is right - just went up to 4 doses of the CT on Wed, which was 2 days ago. Lovely. Increasing detox!!!! I can hear most of the forum echoing back to me (or is that a chant now?) "Detox, detox, detox!" turn
