Question about co infection blood work

So I am seeing this new natrualpath here in Calgary and she ordered some blood work for my co infections and I had a questions if you could tell me what these test are because my brain is unable to comprehend what I am researching to figure it out.
Pharmasan labs
5216 co-infection antibody profile
Babesia microti IgG, IgM, Bartonella hensalae IgG, IgM, Bartonella quintana IgG, IgM, HME IgG, IgM, HGE IgG, IgM, RMSF IgG with follow up titers for positive or equivocal titers by IFA reflex

Sandor - I've never heard of Parmesan labs before.

Looks like she is testing for Babesia, Bartonella and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever.

Yikes - that's gotta cost a lot!

Remind me - did you test positive for Lyme already?

Yup I did, had a positive CDC IGM and a lot of bands on IGG but negative on that but I been sick for over 8 years. My cd57 is also crashed on the floor.

I cannot be more specific about which tests have been ordered or comment on the lab used, but I am certain that someone will help you out there.

I just wanted to caution you about relying soley on these tests as a means of diagnosis. Even the best lab' s coinfections are not reliable and often throw out false negatives. Coinfections are generally even less reliable than the ones for Lyme, unfortunately. There are also more strains of the coinfections than you are being tested for (there are more than can be tested for), so it would also be possible that you simply have a different strain.

I hope that your natrualpath is aware of this. Primarily coinfections should be clinically diagnosed and the tests used as confirmation. A negative test doesn't rule out infection a positive rules it in.

I hope I didn't just make that more complicated, sorry!!

As silly sheep said the tests are unreliable...many false negatives.

I hope she is willing to treat your co-infections based on symptoms, as well as response or lack of response to certain treatments. - no matter what the results of these tests are.

ya I know they are unreliable, but she was pushing "it's more information for the fight, you want to use meds for what you have" etc.
funny story about an hour ago I had this HUGE dizzy spell, and it is still with me really off balance and so dizzy. I am just thinking yay another thing to add to the list maybe they are attacking my ear balance now...

I was asking about the co infections because I think there is like 6-8 common ones and wasn't sure which she checked off to get tested for.
