I lost all working memory at one time, yet it does seem to be doing just fine for most things now. I had to admit that I do usually need some kind of a "trigger" to remember some of the longest held memories, but who knows if I would have remembered those details anyway, even without Lyme.
Mostly this is due to the toxins that have found their way to your brain, and my understanding is that it mostly ammonia. Detoxing very well will help, but continuing on in your treatment is what is needed most.
As PeteZa said - use whatever you can for notes. Many of us with memory issues have notes all over the house! LOL! But it's better than forgetting too many things. When I was at my worst, I had 4 notebooks I used and lived by them. I used a calendar, my phone for pill time reminders and more.
