Okay so I had my first bandage changing today, and the nurse made me feel concerned. I'm doing this all through home health care. They sent me the wrong clips to keep the picc from moving. She had to bandage it without a clip. Then they haven't sent me caps for my line. I literally haven't been capped at all. So here I am all panicky becaus I'm afraid of my line moving around. Anyone else have some kind of experience here?

The nurse told me I'll be ok, but she did seem concerned.

No STRESS! If it was a major concern she would have had you go to the ER and get it fixed asap.

No STRESS! You have to remember that all doctors think they perform the best surgery. All nurses think they are the best caretakers.

No STRESS! You will be fine but if anything changes, just go to the ER.

Did I mention you should not stress? Deep breaths, kick back and relax.

I think she has charted that you need caps and clips and the next home health care nurse will bring it.

One more deep calming breath...... awwwww

Some nurses are pretty careless. I'd call your doctor just to make sure. I've had a line without clips so I wouldn't worry too much about that. But I think you should have a cap on it...that's odd. My nurse was very stern about telling me always to keep it sterile and never reuse a cap.
. And tell your supplier to get it together! That's silly they didn't send you those or they your nurse didn't have any either.

I agree, mine wasn't an issue with the clip, but you really need to have a cap on it.
