Rocephin for Bartonella

I was wondering if Rocephin treats Bartonella, or if it just treats Burgdorferri.

I am starting Rocephin treatment tomorrow. IM. I'm starting to suspect I have Bartonella more so than Burg.

Rocephin is in the Cephalosporin class of antibiotics and are good for Lyme, but not typically used to treat Bartonella.

So I have attempted my first Rocephin shot. Not so fun. It stings pretty bad when you inject. I even have lidocaine cream, which helps a little with the prick, but not so much with the squirt. I've found that I need to stick myself for about every 1ml, and there's 4 to go through. I'm supposed to do this twice a day, but I don't see that happening. My doctor told me that I can get lidocaine as a dilutent, instead of sterile water. That might help with the pain a bit.

I hope this is worth the trouble. :-/

I wonder if there are other places to stick besides above the butt. I remember I tried in my leg once with Testosterone, but I almost passed out, so that's probably not a good option.

I heard rociphin in not good for bart...i need something that will work...rikky just posted buhner take on abx for it

I've been taking rocephin for the past couple of days. It's still pretty painful injection, but the more you do it, the less painful it becomes. It's such a large amount of fluid that gets injected that it kind of creates a bubble under the skin. The bubble goes away after a 1/2 hour. It's not too bad.

I have to take it twice a day. Although I have only been taking it a couple days, I've been feeling better. Might be a coincedence. I'll report back as the days go by, and give an update. I'm also taking my other abx load, so I'm pretty abx-ed out.

Are you taking actigall, ...? The bee stings im doing hurt for two days so has to be better than that .....what other orals are you on?

Rocephin is an Intramuscular injection or IV. I'm doing the intermuscular form. So it doesn't impact your stomach at all. Only your butt. :)

What are bee stings?

I'm on doxy, azithromycin, nystatin, rifampin.

I'm starting to think I have bartonella. It's this dam brain fog thing, that I'd love to get rid of. It's the most annoying symptom I have. It feels like your brain is locked up in jail. So annoying. It kicks in every time I have to think hard about something or work. I dread going back to work in September. Not sure how it's going to work out. If I could kick this dam symptom, I wouldn't mind going back to work. But nothing seems to get rid of it. Hopefully the Rocephin will do something, but I'm not holding my breath.

Bvt is literally stinging intentionally with the venom of honey bees...im up to 15 or so 2x a week...there is a paper by rocky mtn labs that mettlin inhibits borrelia
Amber rose has protocal. .. it helps with fog and inflammation. Hurts a bit. I ordered some venex 20 per klinghardt from cananda but live bees have something. .i.need to attack bart too hard .that zith and rifampin hit it pretty hard.i hear...

Hmm. That's interesting. It does sound painful.

I'm noticing more heart issues with the rocephin. Maybe it's killing the lyme bacteria in my heart? Not sure how lyme carditis is treated. Maybe they prescribe rocephin for lyme carditis? Not sure. I should look it up.

According to this article, Rocephin is a good treatment drug for lyme carditis. Maybe this is why I am noticing more heart flare ups. Although, they say you should take IV rocephin. They don't mention IM Rocephin. Hopefully IM rocephin is effective for lyme carditis, because that's what I'm taking.

zith and rifampin is a good combo for bart.... I was on biaxin and rifampin. It cleared out my bart pretty good but some of it was hiding and I had it come back. Round two of abx coming up.

I had Lyme which they thought was causing pericarditus, and I was given IV Rocephin for that. I believe Rocephin is the go-to drug from a lot of heart infections.
