As an almost 10-yr thyroid patient that had to educate herself to get the proper care, I can't help but wonder about your thyroid levels.
I know you've said they were "fine" but, that's what I heard from thyroid-clueless doctors when I was dealing with hypothyroidism.
There are an estimated 30 million Americans walking around with undiagnosed hypothyroidism and I have no doubt that a large percentage of those diagnosed are not properly treated.
Lyme is known to mess with thyroid function. An out-of-whack thyroid can cause palps.
I will gladly show you how to interpret your thyroid labs. Who knows? Even if your thyroid is truly fine now, the information might prove useful for you in the future.
Hopefully, you've had your Free T4 and Free T3 levels checked - they are the only ones that matter when evaluating thyroid function. They often look like this on a lab report:
Free T4: T4 or thyroxine, free, direct
Free T3: tri-iodothyronine, free, serum
