Splotchy Skin Rash

Forgive me, I did a search through the forum and could not find any specific related topics about my rash, or any that I thought were similar.

A week ago, a "rash" started behind my ears, spread up my scalp and down my neck, then to my chest and face, then to my belly and then to my back. The only description I can come up with is splotchy, they vary in size from a pencil eraser to about a dime. some are dry and flakey and some itch. I am unable to get into my LLMD right now, tho we have been contact thru email, he wants to see me to assess this, but I just cannot drive to him right now.

He said to stop the Abx for a week and then we will re-evaluate then. The rash was only behind my ears before starting Abx, took them for 3 days and once it got to my chest is when he said to stop it. The rash then has continued to spread. Nothing but one spot on my leg.

I am having incredible hip pain, and unable to get comfortable on my right side.

I'm just curious on what y'alls thoughts were on this. Related to Lyme? I have not changed any hygiene products, cleaners or that sorts. There are no fibers/hairs coming out of them. I'm just so lost and it is yet again raining here in the south and that causes everything to hurt worse for me. Disappointed that after it taking a year to get a diagnosis and finally starting Abx for LD, I must wait yet again!

I am doing some detox, and have read where some people have a "toxin rash" not sure if that is what it could be called or not?!

I've been doing Epsom salt baths, do you know if you can add oatmeal to those? Or should I do them as separate baths?

Benadryl and I do not get along unfortunately, so I've been using calamine lotion on the spots.

When you say a huge rash, just meaning the area it covers, or the spots themselves? Do you have any links to what you looked up?

Lyme disease is called the "Great Imitator" because it can mimic many other diseases, which makes diagnosis difficult. A rash can appear several days after infection, or not at all. It can last a few hours or up to several weeks. The rash can be very small or very large (up to twelve inches across). A "bullseye" rash is the hallmark of LD. It is a round ring with central clearing. Unfortunately, this is not the only rash associated with Lyme. Various other rashes associated with LD have been reported. One bite can cause multiple rashes. The rash can mimic such skin problems as hives, eczema, sunburn, poison ivy, flea bites, etc. The rash can itch or feel hot or may not be felt at all. The rash can disappear and return several weeks later. For those with dark skin the rash will look like a bruise. If you notice a rash, take a picture of it. Some physicians require evidence of a rash before prescribing treatment.

I hope this helps you. Because it says it can look like hives that is my concern for you. Hives is nothing to mess around with and that is why your doctor would like you to stop the antibiotics. Just in case it is an allergic reaction to the meds. He is being cautious because he does not want your lungs and throat inside to get that rash and block off your breathing. Take a picture, like the article said, so you can show your doctor.

Is there anyway that you can inform me of these? Forgive me but I am not familiar with them, or I can email them to you. I'd appreciate all the insight I can get!

Just as an FYI, I had a bullseye rash a year ago when I had the tick. This rash is new and one that I've never had before. And this rash started 2 days before starting Abx.

Thank you Traveler. I know that you were wanting to cut back, and I appreciate all the advise you have given me. I will send you an email with a couple of pictures. I lathered in coconut oil last night and that seemed to help some already!
