Dosing of Cowden Herbs for Kids

I need help with some math.

I've contacted Nutramedix and was told the Cowden Protocol is based on a 120lb adult so they told me to adjust for weight when giving to my kids. Well, I have Lyme too so I can't figure out the math. One son is 80lbs and the other 40lbs.

Anyone had experience with this? Thanks!

Sorry I'm just getting around to replying about kids on Cowden Protocol - been tending to my own lyme flare.

My kids are congenital lymies who are primarily asymptomatic. I have been infected at least 27 years if not congenital myself. My decision to treat was preventive in nature (aka based out of fear).

My kids are in month 7 and doing fine. Some minor herxing at the start but they are doing the full protocol so they have all the detox herbs in there. They finished out the long hockey season with great success. At the start of the year, I did remove Gluten and Dairy from their diets. Its a pain because they are so picky to begin with however I think it is helping. Dairy in particular effects their sinuses, congestion. I exposed them to Gluten on Easter and one had a stomach ache all week and the other woke with a painful earache (he NEVER wakes). Anyway, it tells me these things contribute to inflammation for them.

I started titrating up according to the Cowden schedule and stopped when I got to half the adult dose. At about month 6 I even went a little beyond that and didn't find any significant different for them. Currently they are at the full dose for the detox herbs because I figure it can't hurt to get the toxins out.

I believe in another post you asked about whether their immune systems don't recognize the lyme bacteria because they've always had it...I can't answer that but my thought is that the increased assault on the immune system over time, from things like food sensitivities, toxins, mthfr, etc just layered on the stress to the immune system (I'm speaking about me here) to a point where the lyme was able to take center stage.

I pray you find wisdom in how you get treat your family. I still don't have all the answers but am so thankful for this forum because there is little understanding or support from those elsewhere in my life.

Im so new to all this. My 5year son was recently diagnosed with Lyme. We recently saw an LLMD and he suggested we use Samento and Banderol with our child's antibiotics. Is this ok and normal protocal for fighting Lyme? Should he be taking these with his antibiotics? Are they also herbal antibiotics? I have done some research it is just getting a "little" overwhelming. Any advice and help is welcome.
