Hi,


I have reason to believe I'm suffering from neurological symptoms of Lyme. I ended up in the E.R a few days ago because I had intense pressure in the front of my head/eyes and the left side of my body was going numb and my face was twitching on it's. own. It was also difficult to walk normally and my eyes were hard to control.


They did an MRI on my brain and found lesions that "Could be the begninning stages of MS". I did some researching and want to rule out Lyme disease. I grew up in a household of cats and dogs my whole life (who sleep in the house) so I've been exposed to many flea bites.


I live in Orange County and am looking for a good LLMD . They don't have to be in my direct area as I'm willing to do a little driving. I also do not have insurance but have a little money and really just want a basic checkup/test. I tried contacting ILADS but they are taking too long to get back to me.

Hi dave714 - welcome to our community!

As you probably know...MS is one of the misdiagnoses that occurs. You are wise to question it.

Because you are new here, it would be helpful for you to take a look at the thread at the top of the page titled: "New to Lyme?..Start Here!" It's full of great information.

I suggest you enable your email option - so members can send you names of LLMD's. We don't post their names - for privacy reasons.

I hope you stick around - continue to read, post, and ask any questions that you might have.

This is just a reference spot. I have no first hand knowledge pertaining to any of the doctors. You will have to do your own research, but it is a starting point. Some just have phone numbers and do not link to any site.

Also, I agree with Girlie and you should enable your email so you can receive personal recommendations.

Thanks for the responses. I took your advice and included my email address. I'm looking for a no nonsense Lyme specialist that will do some basic tests just to rule out Lyme. The pressure in my head is very uncomfortable- like my brain is swelling from an infection is how I'd describe it. I'm just really slowing down physically and mentally.

dave - I can't remember how long it took - I thought they responded within 3 or 4 days...

This will bump the read up again...so others can see it...hopefully you will get some recommendations from members.

I wish I knew ---- someone else posted their wish to find one in SoCal as well... I was given some references by one organization in SoCal...but when I looked at the Dr.'s websites, it didn't feel right to me. My head used to feel that way... things have improved by changing my diet and adding herbs.. also had an aneurysm repair. Good luck! So sorry for your health issues. You came to the right place for information. People are super helpful here. If you want me to see if I can find the names I was given... I can do that for you and send them via email?

Sure, go ahead and email me please. I also have a list of a few Drs from the link Peteza gave me. Usually this involves alot of calling to get someone who will actually treat me, but im willing to do what it takes for my health.

By the way, what herbs/supplements helped with you brain pressure (I assume it's inflammation)? I have a whole box of supplements I've collected over the years.

Emailed you the referrals ILADS sent me. I began first with journalling and tracking what I was eating and a huge shift in my diet, cutting out things that seemed to intensify the headache. My base is stay away from sugar, dairy, gluten, alcohol - organic fruits and veggies. The first herb I added was Cats Claw, then Japanese Knotwood. For awhile I was on a long list of herbs from a Chinese Dr., but he was murdered, and for a few days I have begun an herbal formula from a different Chinese Dr., but what is in it isn't listed. I had a boost from the anti-biotic for bactrim, which was given for a bladder infection.

I began with checking out Buhner's herbal protocol because intuitively that felt would be of support.
