Ask all the questions you want! I would have been LOST if I hadn't been able to read so much on this forum about
how others were diagnosed, learning how they described their symptoms, learning about
their protocols, what worked, what didn't, etc. And the only way to do that is to ask questions and share info!
Don't have too much to add - it really depends on what your protocol is. It's really more of a challenge in building a schedule. Mine is a lot of little things that need to be spaced out through the day. I just revised my entire schedule so I'll share how I did it - if you have access to a spreadsheet program it's easy to create:
First, I put in my awake times and bed times and then added another hour buffer. Unfortunately, my sleeping cycles are much better but I still have bouts of insomnia. And due to a new Rx I started, I'm now sleeping half the day away. So sleep must be prioritized. So I start out like this:
8am
10pm
Then consider if there is anything best taken first thing on an empty stomach. I like to take my thyroid replacement before getting out of bed, so that's the first hour (and I leave the bottle on my nightstand).
8am Naturethroid
10pm
Then if you're taking a binder (and actually, I strongly encourage everyone to take a binder--some claim they can't fit it into a schedule and I encourage people to build a schedule around it... binders are critical in detoxing--particularly since most of us are struggling w/ lyme & co because our detox and methylation is not up to par. So I'd fit that in. I like taking mine at the end of the day so that I can fit in probiotic before going to bed. Binders are a pain - they require hours of buffer tie around them but again, I think they're critical.
8am Naturethroid
7pm binder
10pm probiotic
And then the sequence I like to maintain is to
1) kill stuff, then 2) flush it, then 3) support, then 4) rebuild. For instance antimicrobials/antibacterials and antivirals are the main weapons, then I want help in flushing (like with a binder), then I want to prevent yeast/fungal overgrowth (antivirals--these come after the antibiotics), then I want support with detoxing, liver support, digestion support or other support I'm taking (although sometimes these can be sprinkled in-between), then the probiotics are last and help rebuild overnight.
I'm now doing abx infusions twice per day but that is temporary but most people doing herbs take them twice/day but it's tough to do binders twice/day--I'm still doing my binder once at the end of the day. So I place my killer doses (abx and antivirals, antifungals) before the binder)
8am Naturethroid
5pm start my 2-hr abx infusion while eating dinner
6pm antiviral & anti fungal (can be taken at same time)
7pm binder
10pm probiotic
Then I figure out my herbal doses and meals. Some singular herbs can be taken with others but MOST antimicrobial tincture formulas or combination of herbs need to be taken alone and with at least a 1/2 hr buffer from any other med or supplement or herb--and I also like to take them on an empty stomach (but some can't tolerate that and I think w/ food is fine). But cd's suggestion of 1 hr buffer is much more ideal if you can fit it in (I can't). So I then add in my herbs + buffer + meal times:
8:00 Naturethroid
8:30 2-hr abx infusion & Bkfst
9:00 Byron White A-Bab
10:00 detox cocktail (burdock root, milk thistle seed, bur bur, parsley & pinella)
10:30 Japanese Knotweed
11:00 Nystatin powder
11:30 snack, aloe vera + tart cherry juice
12:30 red root
1:00 L-5 MTHF (B-12)
1:30 ACV and/or carb/bicarb alkaline drink
2:00 IMN-V-II tincture
2:30 snack
3:00 detox cocktail
3:30 Jap Knotweed
4:00 LDN, Ursodiol, Omega 3s (any other meds that can be grouped)
5:00 start my 2-hr abx infusion while eating dinner
6:00 antiviral & anti fungal (can be taken at same time)
7:00 Nystatin
7:30 binder
10:30 probiotic & bed!
Hope that helps.
