Had my first colon flush today. Positive Update 5/1/16

It wasn't awful at all. Can't say that I felt amazingly better but the therapist said 3 or 4 flushes are when people that don't have awful bowel problems start to notice improvements.

One thing: the whites of my eyes were super white when I left.

I hate to sound so naive, but I had to google and see that these places exist. I am such a mountain girl that doesn't even have a stop light in my town or a service station. Heck, we just got a stop sign because people were going too fast past the elementary school. We have no high school. That is 15 miles away.

So I take it you are going back for the 3 and 4?

Amazing how your eyes are whiter. In my case that would be wider.

They really work if you can get past over thinking about it. Colonics seriously raise your liver function. It made me a lot better and herx less. If it freaks you out just think it is double as hard to do a colonic if you are guy! Oh man. I just did not want to do them at all but I figured I will try just about anything and these infections have stripped any dignity I had left anyway. LOL. blush

Thank you so much for posting this. Can I ask you, personally, was it uncomfortable? I have not really had any medical procedures done until I got Lyme and am rather self conscious. I've been reading about colonics and flushes, etc. and am interested but don't know what level of privacy is given to the patient for one of these procedures?

I appreciate your candor!

Honestly, I did not find it uncomfortable at all. Some mild cramping when the water was going in but the longest period for that was 20 secs. and then she'd stop and do the drain part. There are 2 times when the therapist is in contact with yer partz and that's when the tube thing is inserted and when it's removed. Matter of a couple seconds. Otherwise it's a double tube setup: one for water in and one for water+ out. She even had a mirror focused on the tubes so you could watch the out part if you wanted.

As for privacy, she had boxer shorts with the back seam opened and draped you over with a big towel and also a blanket if you wanted. I felt more exposed during some massages and definitely more at any doctors exam.

She said the people that had the most discomfort were the ones with constipation issues. I'd rate the discomfort at a one on a scale of 1 to 10. But I don't have those issues, I'm just trying to detox.

Can I ask how this differs from an enema at home? If I'm going to consider this, I would probably do the at-home route.

Um, I think it's that this flushes the water through the whole large intestine many, many times which softens any gick and flushes it out. She ran 40 gals of water in and out so I can't do that at home.
I'll be doing coffee enemas at home too, just got my coffee in the mail yesterday, but I'm just going to try this for 4 or 5 more times to see what benefit I can get.

I didn't feel like home enemas are as productive and more uncomfortable as you are suppose to hold water some. There are different kinds of colon therapy too. The "open" machines don't require a therapist but are more money usually. "open" is more of a sit and "go" type. Even the "closed" system the therapists have seen it all and are really good at making sure you are relaxed. I could see candida coming out so I knew I was on to something good!

Flush number two yesterday. More, uh, 'results' ahem but nothing else dramatic. Felt pretty good when I left other than my miserable back pain.

Gonna keep going for awhile.

Okay, so I've had the third flush last tuesday.

My back pain lifted and went away the evening of my last post on the 20th. the date of the second flush. Since then I have felt pretty darn good.

So during the last flush for the first time I felt lots more cramping, not unbearable but definitely there, and also I felt actually nauseous about halfway through and it held on for an hour after. The therapist said she could tell from the appearance of the 'results' that this was older, nastier gunk. And there was a lot more of it than the first 2 flushes. Definitely it was a different experience and she says that will continue as it breaks loose the older toxic stuff.

Here is what I can say overall: I feel pretty great. I feel better than I have for several years, truth be told.

My thinking is clear, I'm able to multi-task better and keep on task without getting side-tracked.
My typing is improved, error rate is way down.
Mood is good.
Sleep is decent and feel rested most nights. Occas. wakefulness and hot flashes but so much less.
My hip stiffness is wonderfully absent 90% of the time. Only after a car ride do I have to work out the stiffness instead of everytime I stand up.

So, is it the colon flushes? Is it the fermented foods and the ketogenic diet? I'm still on herbals with the addition of Art. Could all these things be helping my immune system get on top of the infections finally?

Is it not taking ABs since mid-March hence no herxing and I'm living in a fools paradise right now?

Don't know the answer but all I can say is of all the things I've done and taken this has been by far the biggest improvement bar none and it comes on the heels of the colon flushing. Dunno but thought I'd report in for you that are interested in trying it out for yourselves!

May i chime in? @Peteza-re: your 1st response to this thread...I also wondered "what in the world is a colon flush", "Ooooie"!

I kinda feel like all the herbs im on already do the cleansing.

Im glad this works for you though, hope its longterm relief!

I've been wanting to try this.. When I went to acupuncturist he said your need colonic, he is really nice guy but his office seemed a little to dirty for me.. Think I will call this one Doctor and see if they can recommend someone for me. Nervous to try but I've done so much nothing really bothers me.
