As I'm reading the first post trying to figure out the acronym..........
Then I remembered I had the test bookmarked:
Kryptopyrrole Pyroluria Urine Test:
www.integrativepsychiatry.net/kryptopyrrole_test.htmlI've had it bookmarked since I read this Kryptopyrrole Pyroluria can bind to vitamin B6, making it non-absorbable to your cells, thus creating what looks like a high vitamine B6 serum test. Since the B6 wont fit into cells with this, B6 just floats around in the blood in high amounts.
Unfortunately the lab above offering this test seems to market this towards defined mental disorders, when in fact its useful for a lot more.
High KPU is more commonly referred to as high pyroluria
www.diagnose-me.com/symptoms-of/pyroluria.phpSome people with "toxic" levels of B6 in their blood might actually have pyroluria (or high KPU as Dr K calls it) and these people really have a B6 cellular deficiency going on.
