Do you have nightmares?

Is it just me? The broccoli I ate (which I eat a lot of and never have had nightmares before)? Is it the herbs?

I mean yelling for help and waking up your spouse nightmare?

Something had fallen on me and I could not get out from under it was the nightmare?

Subconsciously is it my lyme disease?

I've always had nightmares...and good dreams, too.

...and hubby has been woken up many a time.

I have nightmares when my subconscience is not at ease.
I had PLENTY when I was sick. I had trouble walking when I was at my worst, and kept dreaming I was in a wheelchair. aweful.
when i started treating Candida I had nightmares for a week or so - i think it is all linked. If lyme can affect our cognitive functioning, I am sure it can affect our dreams too.

It is just not like me at all. I have dreams and lots of old work dreams, but this was a horrible scared breathing hard crying and yelling for help nightmare. Very disturbing.

I have had probably 6 in the last lyme year.

Yes..I think definitely connected to lyme. I have these nightmares where something evil is in my bedroom. I'm conscious enough to try to wake myself up and move and then I "wake up" or think I do but I'm still dreaming and the cycle repeats itself until I finally wake up frantic. I think it's sleep paralysis (which is a lyme symptom ). The scariest thing in the world when it happens and hard to describe!

I'm having dreams that are based on my past. It's very weird. Their not nightmares but they are definitely odd and yes, in some of them, I am yelling or fussing about something.

I have recurring dreams of high school days. (this was also happening pre-lyme)

I'm at my locker...and can't remember the combination.

The other one is..I'm in math...and we're nearing the end of the course...and I haven't done the work all the way along...and the final exam is coming...and I've got a week-end to start from the beginning of the text book.

I wonder what a therapist would say about that!!!

I have the first one too, but it hasn't recurred for several years. My addition 'school' dreams are not remembering to put clothes on, not having my class schedule and forgetting what/where my classes are. Or my locker for that matter,lol.

I think a therapist would advise you to stop blaming yourself for not being able to complete projects, but you need to pace yourself into small accomplishments?

I rarely have a good dream. They range from bad to horrible most of the time, or at least the ones I'm aware of. When I break them down they all end up stemming from things going wrong in my life that I have no control over. Like Tornadoes, wildfires, traumatic things. Pre-Lyme too.

I have similar ones.

First is I'm at college and I haven't been able to find my schedule so missed all my classes, then the dream shifts to its the day of a final and I don't know the answer to any of the questions on the test.

I also have one where I am walking through campus naked. Don't know why but it must mean something.

I haven't had those in years. Now they are just nightmares and I wake up frantic. The only thing I remember is who was in the dream with me: Orlando Bloom, Johnny Depp, ... LOL

I never tell my husband about those parts of the dreams.

Some people blame the nightmares on medications like Soma, but I've never found any correlation.

It makes sense that it could be part of neuro Lyme. Brain chemistry changes.

Peteza - apart from living a nightmare due to Lyme - I have been having them more often lately. The one 3 nights ago was especially horrible. I am usually lost, in an underground subway system that looks more like a cave and is a maze and cannot get out and the air is thick, or I am in a crowded bus and do not know where to stop, or lost in a strange land or someone has stolen my children and harmed them or I can't find my spouse.....just nasty stuff. I don't even think of these things on a daily basis. Oh, and I usually look like when I was 27 and my kids are always very young. So bizarre!
