Great topic -
After two years of treatment (due to just not being very strong and healthy overall--I've likely had lyme 16+ yrs before I got diagnosed so a lot can break down in that time)... I have learned a few things about
my body:
I have a high viral load that surges when I don't get enough sleep or don't eat enough or get physically/psychologicallyover-stressed. Now that I'm in pretty rough lyme & co tx, the viral load reactivates with no provocation at all. And it can knock me into next month, taking me weeks to recover. So I always have a bottle of Rx antiviral on-hand because it was always the most fast-acting and tried and true for me. I'm slowly transitioning to
Beyond Balance IMN-V-II (I don't want to be on antiviral Rx for long periods--hard on the liver so I take it "as needed") so hopefully the IMN-V-II can become my "go-to" antiviral.
I have also battled yeast/fungal issues for a very long time. With an active, consistent overload,
PURE Nystatin powder is my "go-to" anti fungal. I wouldn't bother taking it unless it's in its pure form.
But I'm also having interesting results with
PURE cholestyramine--which is a binder that bonds to cholesterol. I wouldn't bother taking it unless it's in its pure form. I do a bentonite clay chaser--I take the binders only after dinner. I've noticed that it has really helped soothe some GI issues, so the flushing has been efficient. But I've also experimented a little and I think it (alone and w/out probiotics or antifungals) is also flushing yeast/fungus overgrowth... more on that later.
I LOVE the organic inner fillet
aloe vera juice that I'm drinking once/day. I drink 1/2 c at a time--might take a little getting used to since it's very tart. But I think this has been very healing to the gut. To ensure regularity I sometimes add tart cherry juice.
And I've found the
milk thistle seed and burdock root medically necessary to help protect my liver (MTS alone was not enough). I've experienced rise & fall of enzymes directly related to supplementing with those tinctures.
Low dose naltrexone (LDN) has been pretty effective in reducing throbbing muscles and spasms ---I have a dull pain most of the day along with joint pain mainly in my hips. Have bone/muscle/ligament pain in my fingers/hands intermittently. These sx ebb and flow but the pain at night is the worse because it keeps me from sleeping and the spasms wake me up when I do fall asleep. But the LDN has been pretty helpful at night.
I'm on 26 total Rx and supplements but the ones above seem to be making life a little less miserable--sometimes a lot less.
