he was looking at the chart on hearing test..he said the sensorineural loss is massive
booking me in the public system to see a E.N.Tso i said i will wait for 2 years or more for that
he said going by the chart they will see you fast...back on the merry go round

lyme immunoblot testing is only indicated if screening lyme igG antibodies are positive
as from 9th sept 2014 lyme serology will be performed on the liaison and immunoblot by euroimmun assay

It means that you got the least sensitive of the tests - Lyme serology. They are usually called either ELISA or IFA.

" Tests for Lyme disease using IFA have received mixed reviews and some authors believe that the interpretations of IFA assays are overly subjective and that the tests are either functionally insensitive for Lyme-specific antibodies or display considerable cross-reactions with antibodies to other spirochetal organisms."

However, most are inadequate as a screening test because they were not designed by the manufacturers to be sensitive at the 95% level, which is required for screening."

And I've never seen the "ChLIA" testing before. From what I can find, it's a virus though, not Lyme but the Human T-lymphotropic virus.

So, you live in Australia? Were you aware that there is a group - www.lymedisease.org.au/ We do hope you continue to post here, but some local help/understanding can be nice too.

Our gov't here in the US is actively denying Lyme, unless you live in the Northeastern states, and has formed a group that calls and does in person visits to Dr's offices, hospitals and other medical practices to make sure that they know the IDSA treatment standards - so they are pushing those outdated standards that have been removed from the NGC (National Guidelines Clearinghouse), which is something doctors are supposed to support and choose the treatment guidelines from.

I think it's pretty messed up world wide at this point! But we must still find ways to heal, doctors that are willing to admit Lyme is a problem and help each other through this.
