Stinging in arms/hands, shakes, and white spots

For a while now I've noticed my arms and hands will get shakes when I'm slightly flexing or extending any of the muscles (like laying in bed and holding my arm straight out in the air), and sometimes when at rest (more noticeable in hands). I've also been getting random stinging sensations throughout my forearms and hands, feels kind of like ice needles. Sometimes some muscles in my arms feel like I worked out intensely the day before, and are sore.

Could this be a symptom of a herx? I've recently upped my abx dose (~8 days ago) and added some buhner protocol. Since then the shaking and pain has increased.

I'm worried they are side effects of one of the medications (biaxin, bactrim, malarone, plaquenil, nystatin) but I'm just hoping they are part of a herx. The shaking has been around since a bit after I started treatment ~3 months ago, but recently it's worse.

Lastly, over the last few months I've noticed my hands will go quite red when at my sides, with visible small white locations that are always in the same spot. Any idea what this is?

I think since you recently upped your abs dose - it's timely that it's a herx.
Also, adding in the Buhner's herbs - added to it.

I still have shaking of my arms when i do my physio exercises - but they are slowly getting stronger.
Lyme and or bart attacked my nervous system early on...so with me, I believe it's related to the nerves not innervating the muscles properly.

I had tremors in my left hand and both legs for awhile - leading me to a neurologist appt. (also other symptoms) - so he could rule out MS/ALS/Parkinson's disease.

It's been almost two years since that appt...I think it's safe to say that I don't have either of those. I wouldn't have improved if I did. (Although, I guess maybe relapse/remitting MS - I could improve)

I saw two neurologists over my one year of problems. Both said they found nothing. However this was before the shaking began. Maybe I should go back?

Don't worry i just got diagnosed last Thursday after 6 months of being sick and 2 neurologists. I was shaking so bad that i could not even text on my phone... By the way which antibiotics have you been on and for how long did you take them??

Totally agree w/ Girlie about the likelihood of herxing.

Also - the redness in your hands - have you looked up Raynaud's syndrome? See if those symptoms sound familiar.

I experience shaking sometimes simply due to exhaustion in my limbs - or coinciding with spasms that I attribute to the neurons misfiring. There have been quite a few discussions about magnesium as a way to calm the nerves/muscles so maybe do a search for that. "Astroman" is a knowledgable poster about muscles/kinesiology.

I have a FANTASTIC lyme-friendly neurologist. I'd see him for non-neurological issues if I could LOL. But most neuros are not very helpful and can often cause a lot of stress due to their ignorance of lyme and lack of diagnostics that can truly discover lyme-related neuro issues. So, if you think you would feel better about getting checked out - I think you should go. But if it's a stressful experience, I wouldn't bother - they likely won't have much to tell you other than "our tests show nothing is wrong with you".

tremors and stinging skin is something I have experienced as well. Some stings are just little pricks but others make me say "owh". It's def a lyme and co symptom.

I would say it's a herx as well because I would feel the stinging more and more intensely when I'm experiencing other heightened symptoms. So that timing makes me say it's a herx.

Bactrim did a number on me ...i only had 10 days ...mepron will deplete coq10 and sulfa will depleat folic acic...careful it may not be herx. I believe it or the bugs caused some sorta vasculitis. ..both of which are feasable ..iv curcumin and rocephin have helped some ...chinese cats claw and rifing for bart has helped with shakes...

Robby: I'm on biaxin and bactrim in terms of antibiotics.

Pirouette: I've read about reynauds, but I think this is different. Not really triggered by temperature changes, more like blood flow and gravity.

Bluelyme: What did bactrim do to you exactly if you dont mind me asking? How would I differentiate between a herx and side effects?

Girlie: It's been a few days now since my arms increased in pain, how long do bart herxes usually last? The pain and stinging are in my arms - the location thats always had pain since this whole thing. This makes me lean more towards a herx. It's pretty awful though... I was feeling great last week :(

BTW - I found out through DNA testing that I have mutations that impede optimal circulation so I take grapeseed extract (different than grapeFRUIT seed extract). Mostly good results.
