This presenter has a wife sick with lyme and he figured out a treatment approach and she is now well. He was afraid she was going to die she was so sick.
Had gotten lyme at age 7 and had been in a coma for 6 weeks. Got IV AB and then oral but was 'never the same' after that. Had heart surgeries, sinus scraping, had to give up swimming, had leaky gut, anxiety, brain fog, etc, etc. After she gave birth she fell apart physically and they decided to figure out an answer.
They did an ispotlyme test and it was active. Lyme is one of the toughest things to deal with these days. You can't just focus on killing the bug but have to take the body as a whole.
One of the biggest things was heavy metal toxicity.
Big three metals to be concerned with are mercury, lead and aluminum.
In depth:
Sources of mercury, food. High fructose corn syrup. Dental amalgams. Contact lens use in 80s 90s? Mercury in contact lens cleaner. Also was in oral birth control 80s 90s.
Up to pee a lot at night? consider mercury toxicity.
Lead: 'the generational curse heavy metal" Stores in bone and displaces calcium. Mom will give minerals through placenta to baby and if lead in bones, baby gets dose of lead. Can be passed through 4 generations. Low intelligence, blood pressure problems, gout, makes mercury 100x more toxic. Sources: paint in pre-1978, plumbing before 1940, balsamic vinegar (! NOOOOO), indian and chinese herbs can contain lead (make sure they are tested for lead), protein powders can be loaded with mercury, lead, cadmium. Lipstick esp. red. 2/3s of lipstick on the market have lead in them.
Aluminum: deodorant, aluminum pans, anti-perspirant, water bottles, *use glass instead. Aluminum mimics estrogen.
Says use EWG.org for safety of health care products, makeup, etc.
Detoxing heavy metals:
True chelators=will grab metals and remove it.
Examples: dmsa, edta, dmps, ala
Not a big fan of cilantro and chlorella, tend to stir things up more than get rid of it. They bind metals in the petri dish but is different in the body.
Chelate means 'claw'. The examples above have 2 'claws' to grab metals. Cilantro and chlorella have 1 'claw'.
Also loves glutithione in spite of controversy. Not an actual chelator, but it neutralizes mercury in the body. Huge for autism and cancers.
He recommends health practitioner brands of chelators as he feels the quality is better and formulas more pure.
Also like the glutithione precursors. Glutithione is the strongest anti-oxident in the body, bigger than C or E. NAC is a good helper.
Grassfed why protein is good as it provide cysteine to the body to manufacture glutathione.
Selenium, milk thistle are good helps to the body for detoxing. (man this guy talks fast!)
He leans more to the precursors of glutithione and let the body make it rather than the glutithione for long term use.
Q: "how do people detox from metals on their own? What do they do"
A: understand what the true chelators are for is important firstly.
DMSA grabs mercury and lead.
EDTA gets lead out of the bone, but not so great at getting it out of the body. Need to add something for that.
DMPS is great at getting mercury.
ALA will cross BBB where the others don't. Can take 2-4 years to get it all out of the brain.
Go slow and low as it's hard on the body.
Cycle or pulse on and off. Body works in cycles. Says menstruation helps women detox somewhat.
Believe it's a necessity to detox metals but have to be smart and educated if doing it yourself. Can be dangerous if done wrong or too quickly.
Says glutithione is safe and easy to use all the time.
Cilantro and chlorella can be helpful to add if you hit a plateau with the true chelators, helps stir stuff up. Esp. seems to stir metals out of the liver. Then the true chelators can grab the metals and get them out of the body.
*Before starting metal detox remove all mercury fillings or you can cause problems and never get it out anyway*
*And check for mercury fillings under any crowns which most people miss*
*use a biological dentist: IAOMT.org is a good place to find one.*
Take probiotics before mercury filling removal and activated carbon charcoal right before. Take vit C after the procedure to push any mercury through the bowel. Vit C can screw up anesthesia so take it after.
Kidney and liver support is helpful and necessary as metal detox is hard on both of them.
Q: how are heavy metals and lyme related?
A: biofilms are formed by microbes (there are good biofilms, too) like a blanket for them to hide under and protect them from the immune system. Biofilm is typically composed of calcium, magnesium, iron and copper and then some are made of mercury and lead. If you detox of mercury and lead you break up the biofilms made of them.
Take proteolytic enzymes they also help break up biofilms.
His wife after much pain and suffering, she is now healthier than she's been since she was a child. It was a hard road but CAN BE DONE!
Everyone's lyme healing path is different. Try to connect the dots to get your body healthy. Lyme can't thrive in a healthy body.
