First I ask myself what makes a doctor literate in lyme disease? Do they explain to you the importance of detoxing, proper diet, check for heavy metals, etc.? If not then what is a person paying for? Most LLMD's give their patients script
s for antibiotics. Then if one abx is not working they change it around or add another abx.
For many here save your money, your gut (which is the majority of one's immune system), etc. and educate yourself by buying books such as Buhner's books or Dr. Jernigan's book "Beating Lyme Disease" and follow the protocol from the books. Become your own advocate for your own health as no doctor knows how to treat chronic lyme 100%. They are playing a guessing game. I would say Dr. Jernigan is the exception to the rule as he had chronic lyme and healed himself using natural methods.
I understand many are not capable of reading books so in that case there are great posts in this forum regarding herbal protocols as well as interviews one can listen to by alternative doctors. There is so much free information on the internet!
Just my thoughts,
Denise
