That is sad. So many have been mis-daignosed. Now what we need is for those with the celebrity to come out of the closet and advocate for better tests and treatments. I would like to see some of the media have to deal with this. Not that I would wish it on anyone but as my husband pointed out, the media are the ones who get things to change just by bringing it to light. It is only a matter of time before the majority of people have or know someone who has Chronic Lyme.

WOW... thanks for posting Girlie.
Not much of a discussion about
lyme but LOVE the fact that it trumped the ALZ and dementia diagnoses and that he's showed improvement. RS is more interested in the culture of his celebrity and the other more interesting aspects of his life. I hope at some point, some other publication does a more in-depth interview about
his lyme experience, though.

Seen him last year with the late M Haggard. Wanted to see these two classics while they could still perform. I figured Kris's performance goofs were due to age, forgetting words, wrong chords, out of it. And some of these old dudes are still stoners too. Guess that was not all.. Haggard, on the other hand was sharp as ever, too bad hes gone.
Still, being both near 80, it was quite a sight to hear and see. 80 and on stage, wow!.

Great article and glad that lyme was mentioned but it needs to be the headline, IMO.

Wow that's a blast from the past. He looks so young in some of those clips.

Bad luck for him because according to the CDC even if you get bit by a tick that has lyme disease it needs to be attached for 36+ hours and even then you have a 1.2-1.4% chance of contracting the illness.
These are the kind of lies that makes advancements in the understanding and treatment of this horrible illness along with its co-infections very difficult.

Talented man who who at age 80 will probably just smoke that doobie & carry on. One would hope with kids & grandkids, he would carry the torch. Kudos to Rollingstone for printing & for Girlie for sharing!
Other brave souls have come forward like singer, Daryll Hall or author Amy Tan or Yolanda, Dr Mac....but somehow the years come & go & the bite the lyme rhetoric just goes merrily on its way....

CDC still won though.
If you read it, Kris says he feels better after a 3 week ABX therapy. Some people do, and thats what the CDC hopes for. No mention of continued therapy in this read.
To bad 3 weeks is not enough for most people.

Absolute power, fo'sure, rastro. What ever happened to "We the peeps"--bahaha.
The hopeful part of me thinks, gee, if everyone here & all their friends & families, etc were to write him a letter? He has a heart & soul & offspring so maybe just maybe he could fight the machine. Yeah, right!

We were just singing that last night! Kind of fitting here, too: "Freedom's just another word, for nothing left to lose..."
