my doctor witch im thinking about dropping now had me on 100mg doxy twice adayand i mention to his nurse about coinfections and the nuro lyme withc im having and i asked if i could be on 200mg twice a day from all my research ive done that what i think is best but he said he doesnt like being told how to do his job and when i become a md then i can ake that call i think its pretty bad to treat a paient like that

Is he a LLMD? If so, then you need to get a new one.

If not, then you need to get one.

Most regular MD's aren't educated in how to diagnose and treat lyme and co's.

no hes not and ive been looking im seeing a guy next week but i dont no if he is ethier so im still looking for one

Agreed with this. Any doc who removes his patient from the decision making process is not a healer in any sense of the word. Life is too short to waste on people like that. Are you in the early stages of lyme?

Oh boy....... this is a touchy subject. My experience has taught me that doctors rarely like being told what to do.

There are ways that you gently ask or suggest things to your doctor, but most do not like being told how to do their job.

I do not care what your job is -- you hate someone that has not been schooled in your job or ever done your job, telling you how to do it.

well thank you all for your asspect on things and im going to stop seeing him and find someone whocares and doesnt try to refur me everywhere i just have not been out of bed in 30 days and it just upsets me he would treat someone like that but agian thx u all

Your doc sucks. I will trust a blind man driving my car than getting a treatment from your doc.

Have you only just started anti-biotics?

I'll share my med journey with you because it started similar to yours,

The first course of treatment was 100mg of Doxi twice a day for a month to check if my immune system would respond.

After that I did a blood test which showed that my immune system was responding. At that point I was put on doxy 100mg but this time 3 times a day for 2 months.

My symptoms were improving. So for one more month, I continued on 100mg 3 times daily plus one more anti-biotic was added twice a week, but unfortunately I can't remember which one it was.

Off Anti biotics for 2 weeks.

And now I'm on a 4 week regiment:

week 1-3: doxy 200mg twice daily
week 2 only: add Augmentin 1000mg cap tablets twice a day x 5 days + Probenecid 500mg twice daily
week 3 only: Fasigyn 500mg once daily x 4 days
Week 4: Off All Anti biotics
week 1-4 Serrapeptase capsules 120,000 units - 1 capsule twice daily..

And then review with my doc..

All treatment is pretty personalised, so this won't be the same for everyone, but I think you should request that your doctor explain the process of your treatment to you more thoroughly so that you understand why he put you on a low dose of ABX and are comfortable with it. I think having my doctor do that has really helped me understand what to expect from my treatment, and has helped me ease into it.

thx alot im finding a llmd to get me on the right line i can bearly get out of bed most days thx for the help
