Good luck. I don't know how deep your infection is so idk if it will work just dropping a tincture on it. Buhner only mentions the powder for skin wounds as well. It was just a thought but i don't see it being particularly harmful to try especially while you're still on antibiotics and already have some. As long as by "two birds with one stone" you don't mean treating it internally. It's fine in appropriate doses for GI stuff but I hear it's not so good to try and force it to go systemic. I can't remember why.
And yes, the 1/2-1tsp cryptolepis is the recommended average dose. By all means start small, but if a couple drops aren't doing it for you at least you know why.
I'm really glad to hear the buhner protocol worked for you though. I'd love to hear more about the specifics but don't want to derail your thread
Well my staph infection is internal - cellulitis (on my right hand). I don't have an
open boils/wounds. It's all just swelling and itching and burning beneath the skin. So any topical solution isn't going to do much. (even though doc has me using an abx cream 2x day just in case)
The Buhner Protocol worked pretty flawlessly for me. But I think that has to do with me being a perfectionist and following it down to a T (taking every single supportive herb in addition to the core protocol, following his recommendation of weekly massage, removing all gluten/dairy/soy from the diet/keeping carb consumption as minimal as possible, etc).
I've also been getting into HBOT hoping it might help the SIBO situation. It causes pretty insane die-off so I have a lot of hope with it.
