Hi Jingles!
Welcome to our community! I'm so glad you found us.
There are some things you can start doing now to help you as you go through treatments. Detoxing is a big one, and there are detox suggestions in the "New to Lyme?" thread as well as this resource:
www.tiredoflyme.com/detox-methods.html Since you aren't in treatment right now, binders will be a good thing to add in now, as they will bind to the toxins that are causing at least part of your symptoms. Each time one of the Lyme bacteria die off, it releases more toxins into our bodies. Binders will bind to anything though, so they must be taken 2 hours away (before and after) anything else. You want to take it with at least 8 ounces of water though, to avoid constipation. The best way for me to figure out how to take a binder is to find a 4 hour time block where I'm not eating or taking anything and take it right in the middle of the time block - 2 hours in.
As far as stress, many take up meditation, but I've raised two kids myself, and I know that the likelihood of you finding some 'quiet time' could be exciting, so you need to find other ways most likely. There is one type of meditation though that you could do, it's called mindfulness meditation:
www.mindful.org/meditation/mindfulness-getting-started/ There are a handful of different diets you can look at - I won't name any as I don't know many of them, but the main goal is to remove sugar from your diet (you can use stevia, or honey), and to keep the carbs low and lots of veggies. These things are to help you avoid candida during treatment and to help you heal.
The bulls eye rash is diagnostic of Lyme all by itself, so when the LLMD asks, please be sure to tell them about
that. These infections are passed by many more insects than just ticks. There is scientific evidence that several different types of mosquitoes carry and infect people as well as clinical/patient reports of having a bulls eye from biting flies of all types, mites, spiders and more. These infections are so prevalent now that many insects are capable of passing these infections.
And please do have your children evaluated for these infections as well. There is scientific evidence that they can be passed from mother to child, either while pregnant or while breast feeding. We want those babies to be healthy! As you have discovered (and many of us have), that these infections can lay dormant for many years. So keep an eye out for any signs of symptoms in your little ones. Here is a good site to go to for information of infections in children:
/sites.google.com/site/drjoneskids/home You need to be sure to not change things dramatically at any one time in order to monitor what reaction you may have, so we suggest that people not add in/raise the dose of anything new other than every 3 - 5 days. This includes new foods, new meds, new supplements and even new detoxing routines.
I would suggest that you start supplementing magnesium, as almost every person will have a magnesium deficiency due to the fact that the ground our food is grown in is deficient in magnesium:
