well first off just got back from the er i couldnt take it my body just felt like death so i got there talk to the doctror ik from being there alot and she said your whiteblood cell count isnt high so you dont have any coinfections so she gave 15 1mg atavin till i see y doctor wednesday so can u have coinfection with out high whiteblood cell count

so sorry that you are struggling. Unfortunately, trips to the ER are generally not very productive to us lymees.

To answer your question, yes, you can have Lyme & co and not much change in WBC count. Mine have never been out of range.

As much as you can, try to hang in there until wed. Can you meditate? Can you distract yourself with movies or music or sleep, can you soak easily?

What are you doing to detox?

The best thing the ER did was shoot me up with lorazepam. Anyways, I have tested positive for babesia and ehrlichia, both of which are known to alter blood cell counts yet my blood work is normal. My suspicion is that they were trained to diagnose acute illness with these coinfections and not the chronic low-grade form that comes with lyme.

I have co-infection(s) and I have low wbc count.

so, don't rely on an 'in range' wbc count to rule out the co-s.

If it were only that easy.

Well, you could be right--they are ER docs so they are trained in triage, not in Lyme & co or chronic diseases. This is a whole diff ballgame. I'm so glad you received some relief - that's all that matters.

i just feel like im gpiing to die hr 140 when standing ii try to walk i fall into things im haveing bad chills and tingling all over muscel spamps ughh

Well, my Dr. and I figured I had Bartonella even before treating lyme. Because I had a lot of Nervous system issues. I have nerve pain, tingling, vibrations, shivers, autonomic nervous system dysfunction, and had (no longer do) tremors.

There are more - those are off the top of my head.

Unfortunately, my LLND treated me for lyme only for 9 1/2 months ...before switching to bartonella.

I'm still not 100%, so I am taking an herbal med for Babesia now...

So, often we are diagnosed clinically for the co-infections.

There are tests you can have done, but they're even more unreliable than the Lyme tests.

My new LLND has suggested I test for some of the co-s with a lab I have never heard of. I am considering it because it's not too expensive. (but you usually do get what you pay for...so I'm not holding my breath for a positive)

Igenex is often used for Babesia testing...and also Bart.

Another place to get Bart testing is Galaxy labs. They are expensive though.

yess girlie im having all that i have the most extreme chills and tingling muscel spasms the vibrations your talking about im on doxy should it bebale to kill it

lynnkyle - doxy is a good 'starting' antibiotic for lyme. But, alone for a long period of time isn't good.
Another one should be paired with it.

For bartonella, you will need to add something else. Rifampin is commonly prescribed.
